How do you celebrate your child's birthday?

Usually we have diner and cake with the family on the actual birthday and then a party on the weekend. Its my youngest dd's 6th birthday on the 23rd. It's my follow up dr.s apt on the same day in the city so we're going to go to the museum and glow in the dark golfing and shopping. We are having her party with her friends the following weekend.

My kids will each get three small parties this year. One with DH's parents and siblings here, one at the church during bible study, and again next month when we go to WV. That's a quadruple party for Sierra (april 11) me (may 9) and Will (june 10) and Matt (july 2) since it's the only time they will be around any of us and it'll be right in the middle of all four birthdays.

small family party with cake...except this year! DD is going to be 3 (may 11) and wants a party with a princess cake! i think we;ll just ahve some good family friends and their kids over (3 others total) and buy a cake, maybe a craft too. don't want to get too crazy-more for my sanity than DD's!
