How old were you when you had your first child?
How many children do you want...how many does DH/SO want?
Do you work, SAH, go to school, etc.?
Are you doing what you want to be doing now?
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

How old were you when you had your first child? I had JUST turned 19 when Austin was born (my b'day is March 12th, his is March 22nd)
How many children do you want...how many does DH/SO want? me - I really want 3 total but I doubt it'll happen since at this point once I do get pg again I'm not sure that I want to go through all this just to get pg a 3rd time. DH - ???
Do you work, SAH, go to school, etc.? SAH, well actually WAH! Praise the Lord!
Are you doing what you want to be doing now? Oh, yes... by far! I'm so much happier now!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I would love to see myself with a house full of kids but realistically I see one child at home, one grown. I also see me still at home, homeschooling the one child at home.

Do you work, SAH, go to school, etc.? Work part time, best of both worlds!
Are you doing what you want to be doing now? so far...
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully in another house (HATE the semi-detached), with more kids.

How old were you when you had your first child? 17. Sierra was born in April and I turned 18 almost exactly one month later.
How many children do you want...how many does DH/SO want
? We both are hoping for at least 3 more. Now......we'll take whatever we can get.
Do you work, SAH, go to school, etc.? I've spent nearly the past year staying at home. It looks like I will be going back to work after vacation. I don't really want to, but if it helps us get our house, I can do it. Besides, it's temporary. I'll probably work from June-December. Maybe a bit longer.
Are you doing what you want to be doing now? I am right now. I love staying at home with my kids. I wish I could continue doing it.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hopefully living in my house (which will be nearly paid off at that point and have 3 or 4 little ones running around.

How old were you when you had your first child? 27, turned 28 one month later
How many children do you want...how many does DH/SO want? wanted 3, but realistically hoping for 2. DH just turned 40 and don't want to stretch the age limit!
Do you work, SAH, go to school, etc.? Work full time as a teacher, DD is in a GREAT at home daycare-thank goodness!
Are you doing what you want to be doing now? for the most part-looking forward to a better teaching assignment next year (fingers crossed)
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? in a house with a garage (not a condo with covered parking!) and 3 kids (still hoping)

How old are you Lauren??? I'm only asking because you mention your DH is 40... my DH is about to turn 42 & I'm 10 years younger than him. I completely understand the age factor!

I'm just about to turn 31. We're just over 9 years apart and the age thing has only bothered me recently. My dad was 45 when my brother was born (there's 12 years between just the two of us) and I saw a totally different dad for him than I had so I've always been a bit sensitive about it. DH just keeps reminding me that he's not my dad and that he'll be a different, "more seasoned" dad. Honestly though, with so many older dad's these days and the fact that we really want another one, it's bothered me less and less the longer we've gone through SI!
