Adenomyosis. Since I've been feeling worse they had me come in for another visit today. They did a u/s that didn't show any excess tissue or anything from birth and then had me talk to the doctor. She asked me what was going on and then did another pelvic. Well, she's pretty sure that most of the symptoms are now caused by the antibiotics. Yay! Gotta love side affects! Beyond that she thinks that, due to my usual cycle symptoms and current symptoms, that I have adenomyosis. She suspects that it has come back with a vengeance after being pregnant and that not having a cycle for 9 months gave me enough of a break that I'll basically have to get used to the pain again.

On the TTC note, she recommended that I take BCP for awhile. I didn't even have a chance to ask before she brought it up! She said that getting pregnant right now would be risky since I just had a baby (of course) and that the infection really bumps those risks up. Odds of us having a healthy baby if I got pregnant right now are pretty slim. So I'll start the pill today if the pharmacy ever fills the prescription. It'll also provide some symptom relief until we're ready to start TTC again and not just NTNP like we would be if all this hadn't come up. At least she doesn't think I have endo, or if I do that it's really minor. Gotta come out of the day with at least a little good news!

Glad to hear that at least it's not that the infection has got worse, and glad she agrees that it's good for you to go on birth control, and hopefully soon you will feel better

I already feel better. It's like the weight of that unknown has been lifted. From what I've read adenomyosis and endometriosis kind of go hand in hand so I do probably have both. They use BCP for both though so it's all good. She gave me pain meds to help as well so hopefully the kids will get to enjoy a healthy, happy mommy until I get pregnant and cranky again.

Thanks. The more I read the more fascinating it is. Apparently adenomyosis is also called internal endometriosis. It explains why at a post-O exam my OB thought she felt a fibroid, but when I had a u/s done after AF left a couple weeks later there wasn't one to be found. Apparently it can give the appearance/feel of fibroids.

Awww sorry about your ttc plans. But I am sure once you feel right again you can go back to the doc for help. That sounds horrible about 'getting used to the pain again' after 9mths free *hugs* I'm glad the BCP is helping with that at least!

Hi. Im Jolene. 31 years old. I suffered three years of a short luteal phase and didnt think I could get pregnant again without medical assistance but fell pregnant by accident and naturally. I am really happy and excited to be having a baby although knowing Im going it alone this time is a bit daunting and scary!
