If you could plan your ideal birth (location, length, people present) what would it be like?

I would go into labor on my own, have a massive epi, deliver at the local hospital (they're fantastic), with my preferred OB doing the delivery and just DH there for support.

Ideally, I would be able to have a water birth at home. I would love for it to be during the day with just Matt and I at home (and my midwife of course!). I really would LOVE to be able to surprise the family completely by calling my MIL and telling her that I needed some help with....whatever.....I'd make something up just to get her here and when she showed up let her know that I just thought she would like to see what I had done that morning. lol

A VBAC at a hospital!!! I have to have a repeat c-section & was actually kinda grieving that aspect previously but after the m/c I don't care if they pulled the baby out through my nose as long as I get a baby!!!

LOL Amanda.....nose? *shudder*

I want a homebirth but I am a little scared of doing it although my delivery of Dakota was fine. I will think about it more closely when the time comes. I want Dakota to be present as well as DH (Richard) and maybe my mum this time. Last time it was just Richard and I and that was fine cos it was so special being our first baby. But my mum hasn't been present at any of her grandchildrens births so I think it would be special for her next time (plus she can sit with Dakota).
I like the idea of being surrounded by my comforts and being able to put baby to my breast straight away and not have him/her carted off for hours!

Hi. Im Jolene. 31 years old. I suffered three years of a short luteal phase and didnt think I could get pregnant again without medical assistance but fell pregnant by accident and naturally. I am really happy and excited to be having a baby although knowing Im going it alone this time is a bit daunting and scary!
