Even my dog has decided to rub her fertility in my face. Nice. Real nice. Somehow the dog that is always either inside or in a kennel in the back yard has ended up pregnant! Not entirely sure how soon I'll have puppies here, but I'm guessing she's really close. All the information I can find says a dog is pregnant for 55-65 days. When I picked her up this morning to put her back in the cage she leaked milk on my arm. I'm guessing that doesn't happen until towards the end of the pregnancy.

Some of you might remember, this is the same dog that had a litter overnight on New Years 2008/2009. We didn't know she was pregnant at that time and lost all but one of the pups. This time, I caught it (she still doesn't look pregnant but if you feel her belly then you can tell) so she is now inside until she has the pups and then weans them. Her pup from last year isn't happy because now she is outside by herself. lol

I am actually hoping to have puppies within the next few days. That would be ideal. I would love to be able to advertise puppies for Christmas. I can't keep anymore. I have too many animals as it is, so I'll have to find homes for them fast. Matt is already threatening to take the pregnant pooch and all the other animals to the shelter as it is! (kids are not taking care of them like they are supposed to be, so it's all falling on me and Matt. Welcome to parenthood Matt!)

I am really happy and excited to be having a baby although knowing Im going it alone this time is a bit daunting and scary!

I don't think the problem last time was health unfortunately. I will forever blame myself for those 3 puppies dying. I know I didn't realize she was pregnant, but I feel like I should have. The thing was, she had them over night on one of the coldest nights of the year, and they just couldn't stay warm enough. By the time we found them 3 had died from the cold.

This time, I'm glad we caught it and hoping that we will have lots of puppies. Though Matt doesn't agree. I just love having babies of any kind around!

How exciting!! My doggie is about ready to go into heat and although we really don't want puppies I think it would be really cool to have some. Im sure that Kevin wouldn't agree!

Rub her belly for luck! I'm sure she'd love it and it will give you good luck.
