You know, it may be about time to try Maca Root... I'll wait to see what the RE has to say but at some pt if I'm not pg with the RE I'll probably try the Maca b/c we can only go so far with the RE.

Steph, I saw your post on TTCMA about the cost of injections... I really hope you get some responses b/c unfortunately I think that's the road we will have to go down if we want to get pg but as I've researched, this option scares me... I've read it can be anywhere between a few hundred & a few thousand per cycle! A few hundred we can do, a few thousand I highly doubt. I did find these links that may help though...
Fertility Meds/Price Quotes & How to Order
Medications and Pricing :: Fertility Medications :: Freedom Fertility Pharmacy

Oh, & you can get someone to help you figure out what exactly your health insurance covers & what it doesn't by calling 1-866-LETS-TRY, Infertility Insurance Coverage - Fertility LifeLines. Melissa (KMH) from the TTCMA suggested that on my intro thread that I posted there the other night.

From what I have seen I told Matt to prepare for around $1500 a cycle. The very most we can do is two cycles. More likely just one. We might try a couple rounds of Femara and IUI first just to keep price down. If injections don't work then it's time to save up some serious dough for the next year (likely would mean me switching jobs and getting a full time job at DH's company) and then trying IVF. Matt said no in the beginning, but he also has since said that he thought I was overreacting and just jumping to a very expensive conclusion. I have been afraid that would be the route we were headed fo 2.5 years or so.

Finding out what is covered by my insurance is easy for me. They cover NOTHING. I already checked into that last year when we went to the RE. They pay for testing, but as far as treatment/medication..... we are on our own there.

Aww sorry to hear that Stef. Must be quite scary and stressful wondering if you'll need to go that far. As far as i know we get our treatment free but not IVF if it came to that, cos of having one child already.

What does maca root do Amanda?

Oh, Jo... if I were you I'd def try it, especially between now & March is it when you are waiting, doing nothing b/c they won't refer you already... I'm not quite sure why I haven't really thought about it again till now (actually I know the reason... it was just brought up again on another board & until then I had completely forgotten about it). Anyway, it is supposed to help with your fertility & Vicki (WVMama) actually used it & if I'm not mistaken actually credits her newest addition to it...

I've thought about trying maca root. I might be doing that for a couple of months before we start IUI.

I used soy isoflavones and b6 this cycle. Took the SI CD's 3-7 and omg I can feel it this time! Loads and loads of EWCM! Of course I'm a little pessimistic about this cycle since I have a prolactin level of 0.2 and it needs to be between 4 and 24 I think. Just have to wait it out I suppose.

haha, just laughing at myself cos you know ME...I already went and ordered some last night!

This cycle will be all-natural...just so I can see if my 'problem' is still there. I do feel this cycle is already a bust even if my LP does go beyond 9-10 days...just cos of how upset and stressed out I was around ovulating. I can't figure out WHEN I ovulated cos my chart (and +opk) indicate CD12 but then I was all stressy and I think it might have been all geared up then flopped, lol. My temps didn't start of right and then my boobs felt the most tiniest bit sensitive from Cd15 (fri) and just started to feel more sore last night (sun) but nothing compared to when on the progesterone! So I reckon if I ovulated ot was weak and CD14.....but anyhoo! I'm so easy to go off topic!

So yeah, looked at the maca root. Doesn't sound much different than the Agnus Castus I tried....but I was nursing then so maybe it would work now I am not (I was thinking that anyways, about trying the AC again) but as this sounds similar but is something different I thought YEAH, I'll try it! It also says it increases male fertility? So not sure whether to get hub to take it too? I ordered 180 tabs so would do us both for 3mths.
Like you said, its hard to do nothing whilst waiting for the docs and it always feels good to at least TRY something.

I forgot to mention I have been taking showers instead of baths! Quite enjoying them really...and cuts down on water usage so good for the environment and our pockets too!
