For anyone who wants to count calories or fat grams without actually having to count them. lol Check out this site.

SPARKPEOPLE

You can enter what you eat and search for a basic idea of how many calories, and such or you can manually enter the nutrition information for a food and the site remembers that. It counts every thing you have eaten and give you a total of Calories, Fat Grams, carbs, proteins. It tells you your totals for the day, your goal for the day, and how many you have remaining. It's a fast, easy way to track your food and see how much you really are eating.

Some helpful tips:

Many people, especially in the US have developed a "more is better" attitude. Portions are out of control. Read the nutrition information on the label of your food, see how much a serving size is, and then actually weigh or measure out that much. This will help you keep track of your nutritional information (calories, fat grams, etc.) much more accurately.

Also, don't forget the little things. Many people count all their food, but then forget about the calories and fat grams in their drinks, the gum they chew, the candy they suck on all day to avoid eating..... and those calories add up too! Make sure that if you are tracking your nutrition information you include everything that goes into your mouth!

One way to make it easier to keep track of your food is to get a pocket size notebook and slip in your purse or pocket. Keep it with you at all times, and every time you eat, drink or chew anything, WRITE IT DOWN. If you try to remember it all day, you are likely to leave something out at the end of the day.
