I ordered DH a guitar for Christmas. It was supposed to be THIS ONE. Today it got here and they send THIS ONE.
What would you do? Would you return it for the black one knowing that there is a chance that it might not get here on time (they said returns could take 4-6 weeks to get the replacement) or would you just satisfied with the one that came. I thought about talking to Matt and telling him I want to get hi a guitar after the first of the year (with tax money) and trying to figure out which he would like most. I just don't want to make him suspicious.

Hmmm, I'd probably stick with the one you got, and keep it a surprise! Did he ask for the first one?

No. I know he wanted an electric guitar, but he doesn't think there is any way I could get it this year.

Call them. Explain that they messed up, especially if you can prove it with the receipt, and see what they can do. I'd tell them, I am very dissatisfied with my order because it's not what I ordered. I want to know if you could send the one that I ordered and have it here before Christmas or are you going to return my money to me and risk losing my business? Ask them to look up your account to make sure that it is the black one that's listed on it and not the Sunburst.
Fingerhut's sales are slipping and I've heard that customer services isn't the greatest. If the person (trying to be nice here) can't seem to help you, ask for his/hers supervisor. Tell them the same thing and mention that so and so wasn't able to satisfy you, the customer.
That should help if you choose to return it but I'd ask if they can replace it in time. I've spent a lot of time on the phone with various companies customer support. I work very hard for my money and if it doesn't live up to what they say it should do, I complain.

I called them this afternoon, and they said yes, I was supposed to get the black one. That it was their mistake. they are sending me a prepaid return shipping label, but said that it could take 4-6 weeks to receive the right item. I might call again tomorrow. I don't know though. Matt would probably like this one just as much. I just liked the black better.
I am kind of thinking about just keeping it now. It's alot better looking in person than in that picture. I don't know though.

It's your call but I actually like the starburst one. Don't forget to call them back if you keep it. You got him what he wanted hun, I don't think he's going to mind the color all that much since you made the effort to get it. You're a good wifey!

Yeah, I looked at both and thought actually they are both just as good! I think you should keep the sunburst cos Matt will be just as thrilled and it will be a great surprise!!! If you send it back and don't get the other in time that will cause you undue stress and spoil the surprise if you have to say on the day 'hey, I got you a guitar but you have to wait....'
I just wonder if AFTER you've given it to him you can tell him you ordered the black and IF he wants to change it then phone up and say....but I am sure he won't want to!

Hi. Im Jolene. 31 years old. I suffered three years of a short luteal phase and didnt think I could get pregnant again without medical assistance but fell pregnant by accident and naturally. I am really happy and excited to be having a baby although knowing Im going it alone this time is a bit daunting and scary!

But no, just my opinion of course so feel free to do what you want but I'd say dropping any hints this close to Christmas will just be too obvious! Better he doesn't even have it in his mind as a possible right now!

I myself would probably keep it and then never order from them again. Since it was their mistake I think that they should have to pay to have it replaced by overnight delivery. But that is just my opinion.
On the other hand, if he would like it just as well, without the added stress of wondering if it would get there or not then I would keep it and forget it. Its so hard when its a gift.
Either way I think that they should have to reimburse you for the shipping cost if you don't send it back, and I agree that you should speak to a supervisor.
