Hi. Im Jolene. 31 years old. I suffered three years of a short luteal phase and didnt think I could get pregnant again without medical assistance but fell pregnant by accident and naturally. Hey Vicki! Glad you came by....cos I was wondering how much to take? My tabs are 500mg and it says to take 2 daily but I read online you can take 'between 1000mg and 3000mg'
Not sure whether to start low, which will make them last longer...or go all out to hopefully get results? Was thinking maybe increase to 3 tabs after ovulation?
(Congrats on baby Ethan btw!)

I started out at 500 and increased to 1000, and eventually to 1500 I never went above that though, mostly because it did kinda make me a bit wired when I took it. I really hope it works for you, I honestly do feel like it helped us allot

Thats a relief to know! I didn't want to get through them too quickly. I just hope they work on my low progesterone/luteal phase! I don't want to have to wait all the way to next year and then some just for Clomid that may not even work.

Hi
I'm new here, just thought I would post on this thread.
I have been taking maca root on and off for over 3 months, when I first took it I had palpitations. This improved after reducing my dosage. I take the tablets I should take 2 or 3 a day. As I am being a little lackadaisical I don't take them as often as I could.
I found that they improved my moods, I was a little more pleasant to be around.
What I have started to take also is Vitex Chasteberry and this really has reduced the heaviness of my periods, also I have no pain before my periods.
After the birth of my last son over 4 years ago, I started having period pains and large clots. Now this is greatly reduced.

Hi Viv
Thanks for dropping in with that info! If I feel anything like that I'll know to drop my dose!
I tried Agnus Castus (vitex) for about 8 mths too and off and on since then. I agree, it does greatly reduce pms and bad moods! But it never corrected my short cycle
I currently take 2 x 100mg B6 as well as 3 x 500mg Maca Root

I have one more cycle (the one I just started) of Clomid and then I will either be trying Vitex or Maca Root. Probably the Vitex for now because I already have a ton of it. If you get a BFP on Maca Root I just might have to order some myself. I know There was one other grad from here ....Mrs.Poe, who credits Maca Root with her BFP/baby.

Hey..just adding info here (cos I know from endless researching how frustrating it is to be browsing for info and find one that ends short)
I was thinking I don't feel anything at all so maybe 1500mg isn't enough! I upped to 2500mg and then thought what-the-hell and upted to 3000mg. Haven't felt much different although I did write to a friend saying how I felt quite good and positive and 'breezy' only to read later that day that that is a 'symptom' of Maca (it battles depression too apparently) so I got a oooh? Interesting! moment. I also have felt a bit more 'ooh lala' with it..though very mildly - not suddenly became a sex-mad beast or anything!
I've just ovulated (yet to be confirmed by temps) cd16 instead of cd19 as I was expecting so maybe, just maybe, its helping? Oh..and I ordered Organic Raw Maca Root too as I thought it might be more potent than tabs so have reduced my tab intake to 1000 - 2000mg and added 2 x half tsp of the powder.
