Having my bloodtest tomorrow. I think I O'd cd18 so it is only 3dpo ...but thats how my silly docs want to play it (test on cd21 not 7dpo). And if it proves I ovulate - even though still having a short LP from low progesterone -- at least it tells me something.
If its low then I know the Soy was what helped me last cycle and I'll try more of that.

I can't wait to find out!!

Hi. Im Jolene. 31 years old. I suffered three years of a short luteal phase and didnt think I could get pregnant again without medical assistance but fell pregnant by accident and naturally. I am really happy and excited to be having a baby although knowing Im going it alone this time is a bit daunting and scary!

Thanks Anna. I guess I won't get the result until next week...but it will provide some new answers (and questions) about my cycle for me to think over!

Not feeling hopeful as my boobs are not really hurting. I'm sure thats a low-progesterone or no-or-weak-ovulation sign *sigh*

Ok, so good news! My progesterone was 40. That means I DO ovulate on my own but don't have enough progesterone! As I always thought (as opposed to when the doc argued I don't ovulate at all because of the low progesterone.)

I told hubby he really needs to do his sperm test now as - if I have been ovulating all along - then even with a 9 day luteal phase SURELY I should have caught one egg in the last two years? Even if it miscarried again? He's pretty worried now!
I also don't need the Soy Isolflavones...as I thought last cycle may have been a good result because of them but I took nothing this cycle. I might still take them, but a lower dose, next cycle though.

I took 165mg from cd2-cd6 last cycle. My progesterone at 5dpo was 46. This cycle I have taken nothing, no B6, vits or Soy and my progesterone at 3dpo was 40. So I presume I am OK on the Ovulation side of things. Just my progesterone that is still lacking.
I may just take one Soy tab next cycle from CD1-cd5 - just for a boost. One tab is 55mg SI.

Did you take the B6 through out your whole cycle?

Yep. I've taken B6 for a almost a year, throughout my cycles. I took 300mg B6 daily through Dec's cycle. And the Soy cycle I took 200mg but in two doses, so 100mg morn and 100mg evening as (was it you?) suggested? My LP foever remains short. The only thing I can say is that it has perhaps moved to 9 days more often than 7 or 8 days long....so maybe it is very slowly working up to longer. After my miscarriage my LP was as short as 5 days.

No, it wasn't me. I did 180 mgs soy CD's 2-7 and 100 mgs B6 the entire cycle.

OK, I found out there are TWO systems used for measuring progesterone.

Quote:
Most clinics will look for a progesterone level of 30 nmol/l (some say over 40 nmol/l) to indicate ovulation. You do need to be aware that different clinics and labs use varying measurements and ranges so whenever comparing anything like this you do need to take this into account otherwise it doesn't give a clear picture...eg 30 nmol/l is approx 10 ng/ml. If you've been told you ovulated and your level was 15 then it could be that the measurements used were in ng/ml eg 15 ng/ml would be approx 45 nmol/l. I wouldn't advise comparing your hormone levels with other ladies until you're aware of the measurements used as it will just get confusing and take your results out of context.
New here, would appreciate advice re progesterone & 21 day test

Just thought I'd add that as it would explain why my level seemed so 'high' but in reality is 'normal' because my docs use the nmol/l measure. I'm still good though in terms of proving I ovulate!
