Hey, I ordered a book online called Overcoming Infertility Naturally
It came in the post yesterday. Its a very small book so it didn't take long to read and it was very good. I'd recommend y'all having a look!
Some notes I made that might prove useful:
CLENSING DETOX
It says how build up of toxins in the colon can affect the whole body and make absorbing good nutriants and vitamins poor. It says a good detox is to eat and drink nothing except fruit juices for a week. Or even just a few days. Sounds pretty good! Hard..but you can drink as much as you want and it gives your body a chance to breakdown and dispose of all the rubbish we normally eat.
Alternately...just drink juice and eat raw (uncooked) fruit and vegs only, with baked potato and brown rice.
VITAMINS
B6 as we've all heard before - but did you know it should be balanced with B12 and the other B-vits?
Vitimin E (found in almonds and uncooked nuts)
Vitamin C (apparently 400mg can induce ovulation)
Vitimin A is bad in multivitamins but the natural Vit A (called Beta Carotene) found in carrots and peas is a GOOD vit A supplier as it can be broken down by the body instead of stored like synthetic vit A.
Yams - or sweet potatoes (1/2 cup a day) is supposed to increase the chance of twins (or having ONE child in those with difficulties)
FOR MEN
Zinc, Vit E, B12 and Selenium are all essential for good quality sperm. Found in Uncooked nuts, oats, eggs and pumpkin seeds so try sneaking those in your partners diet!
HERBS
Dong Quai
Alfalfa (provides vit E)
Ho Shou Wu extract
False Unicorn
ACIDITY CM
Douche with 1 - 2 tbsp baking soda mixed to 1 quarter water before b'ding to make the vagina more sperm friendly!
ELIMINATE
Even ONE coffee (60mg caffiene) a day can impair fertility.
Avoid white processed foods (ie white sugar, white flour, white pasta)
Avoid Aspartame and Saccharin sugar substitutes.
STRESS
'just relax' - how sick we are all of that expression? But if you are the type to get ill or cold like symptoms everytime someone you dislike comes over then it proves your body is pretty in tune with your emotions so stress/unhappiness can shut down your fertility. Being angry at or holding resentments towards your partner (even if mostly subconsciously) can be telling your body not to 'except' your partners sperm.
Keeping a journal, writing a letter to people you are angry with (then destroying it w/out showing them it of course) are some self-help techniques. Trying relaxation tecniques twice a day for 20mins has also proved beneficial.

Hi. Im Jolene. 31 years old. I suffered three years of a short luteal phase and didnt think I could get pregnant again without medical assistance but fell pregnant by accident and naturally. I am really happy and excited to be having a baby although knowing Im going it alone this time is a bit daunting and scary!
