I hope you don't mind me posting here, I just have a question and I am not sure which board is really the place for it so I am posting here. We are on cycle 10 of TTC. Dh just had an SA done and everything was normal. Now my Dr. wants to do an HSG test, and I am just curious how many others out there have had this test and if your Dr. performed this test before doing any bloodwork. I asked if the bloodowrk should be first and he said he wants to do the HSG first and we'll take it from there. I was pregnant once in Nov of 08 has an early mc. I am kind of lost and confused and I guess I am ready to go on with the test. My Dr. was kind of short with me on the phone and I am sure it was just because he was busy. Thanks for your input ladies!

I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I think there have been a couple of HSG's done here, but a lot of the women on the TTC with Medical Assistance board have had them done. I'd definitely ask there as well if you haven't already. With my case they started with blood work and a sonogram and found out I have PCOS so an HSG was unnecessary. I thought they usually did blood work first, but I could be wrong.

Hello, IM sorry I missed this! I haven't had the HSG done, and believe that Anna is right, the ttc w/medical assistance board would be good for you. For me we know my tubes are open, I just can't seem to stay pregnant. We have been trying off and on for 4 years now, and 5 months since the last miscarriage. I hope your Dr. is able to give you some answers!

Same here with having bloodtests not hsg. But I guess if u look at the positives, first ur dh has been ruled out so that's good cos they will now concentrate on u. Secondly the fact they will do any tests is good and even though blood work would be a good start I guess it doesn't matter too much if they do hsg first then bloods? Maybe he figures as you concieved ok once you ovulate etc so he figures it will be faster to look into why u didn't keep it?

Sorry-hope that makes sense. I don't really know what hsg is :/ but I hope I helped a little.

Hi. Im Jolene. 31 years old. I suffered three years of a short luteal phase and didnt think I could get pregnant again without medical assistance but fell pregnant by accident and naturally. I am really happy and excited to be having a baby although knowing Im going it alone this time is a bit daunting and scary!

Oh I have heard that sometimes a hsg will open up your tubes and women will fall pg after they have one. So maybe that's a good thing?
