Hi, my name is Kelly (25) I'm happily married to my sweetheart Travis (25). We are the proud parents of my DD Micah, 5 and DS Caleb, 2. And we are ttc #3. It took over a year to conceive Caleb, and I'm hoping that this time around isn't as long! I'm looking forward to meeting you all and getting some great advice, and maybe giving some!

Good luck to all!

Did they ever say why it took so long with Caleb? How long have you already been TTC #3?

With Caleb they said I had "almost" PCOS....which makes me think that I have it, but just not fully diagnosed. They put me on metformin then, and I'm taking it again now...along with soy isoflavones, b6, and a prenatal. I'm eating better and trying to lose some weight and I'm using opk's to take the guess work out of o'ing. We've been trying since I got fully off of bcp in November. Since then I've had 2 regular cycles and 1 super long cycle, and this pretty long one....which I'm hoping will end in a BFP!

Wow, can't say I've ever heard of "almost" PCOS. Did they do the usual CD 3 blood work and an ultrasound of your ovaries at least? If you're still irregular on the Met you may need an increased dose or something like Clomid or Femara.

Wow, it took me forever to get back to this one! hehe..sorry.

They did blood work, but no ultrasounds. They gave me metformin and told me to take that and if that didn't work over a period of time they were going to go to Clomid. I never made it to that point with Caleb, and now DH is over ttc so, I'm not sure where to go from here!

Maybe he would be willing to NTNP while you wait to see what the Met does for you?

That's where I'm trying to get him too, but he's got his heels dug in at this point. Right now, we aren't using any protection, I don't have a birth control prescription at this point, and he doesn't like condoms (he says after 5 years it just doesn't feel right). I'm just hoping that maybe this super long cycle is going to end in something good. I'm having symptoms, but I'm trying really hard not to read into anything. I hate giving my hopes up and then getting upset.

Have you thought about charting to watch for ovulation? I do it whether TTC/NTNP or not just because being so irregular sucks. I hate being caught off guard by the witch.

I chart CP/CM and now that I'm in like day 60, but I think my cervix hates me. Here since I've been on the roller coaster, it has been high and closed, with not a lot of cm. I took at test today, SMU, and DH bought a CBE, so I'm not so happy about the ble dye, but it was negative. Soooo...I have no idea what's going on, this may just be another one of my super long cycles with symptoms that make me wonder!

It seems like women with PCOS tend to have more trouble charting with CP and CM. Aside from temping I wasn't able to find any consistency in my cycles going by CP or CM. Some cycles I would show a thermal shift, but never have even slightly fertile CM. It could be an almost completely dry cycle. Wonky hormones are no fun.

No ma'am they are not. And I'm just trying to give DH his space and hope for the best. I just want my hormones to get it together.

How much Met do they have you taking each day? I know some women need a pretty high dosage before it really makes a difference.

Right now I'm on 825mg 1x daily. With DS it was the same.

I'm just having a really hard time with this right now. I'm on cycle day 73 I believe. And I'm not showing signs of either AF/or BFP. I'm honestly think right now that maybe school stress has me late.

That could be. You may just need a higher dose as well. It seems like women on Met with PCOS tend to have a large dosage jump every so often.

Yeah, I just hate that my body plays the symptom game with me the way it does. I've been nauseous, had a wierd metallic taste..it was so wierd! I honestly thought that those that said they it were crazy, then it happened 2 nights ago and I was like really?!? I've been napping a lot lately..but I just don't want to read so much into anything and get dissapointed by a BFN...sigh...guess its time to go to the doctor.

When we were TTC our third I had so many symptoms month after month and AF would end up being late and all kinds of stuff. PCOS can really be so cruel. That's part of why I started temping. Since I O, but they're bad eggs, I could still look at my chart and sort of calm myself down rather than think I must be a week late and pregnant. KWIM? We took advantage of the postpartum fertility boost to get pregnant with our fourth and I'm really hoping we can do it again for a fifth so we can have our 5 and be done without meds again. I'm not sure what's worse, PCOS messing with you or PCOS and meds messing with you at the same time.

Yeah, I'm just glad school is over so I can get back to excercising and eating healthier, maybe that will help the PCOS. And maybe by that time DH can at least be on NTNP...which to tell the truth is what we are doing now. I'm not on any form of birth control and he doesn't use anything (comfort factor for him he says). I know it's a long shot, but I'm almost hoping to sneak in a eggy!

That'd really be great. There's something extra satisfying when you can catch an eggy with PCOS without involving fertility meds.

Well..I took a test last night...and within the 10 minute mark I got a light faint blue line. Yeah, it was a blue dye..so I'm not holding my breath that it was a true one..but that lifted my spirits a bit. I'm not so down now! lol..I'm hoping it was a true one and that by next week (when I want to test again) it'll be darker.

So maybe I did sneak an eggy in!

Oh that's so exciting! I really hope it was a good blue dye and not a naughty one.
