I'm sort of torn on this one. I feel a lot more comfortable talking to a woman, but at the same time men sometimes seem more sympathetic. If I can find an awesome female that's preferable, but it doesn't seem to work that way very often.
I think I would much prefer female but so far I've only seen male. I tend to go for dr's who are highly recommended by someone I know. I do know that my OB is AMAZING (& male) & I will never leave him, as long as I can.
I do find that women are not as gentle or as sensitive as men are. That really kind of surprises me too! I would think that they would understand more how we feel and be more gentle and sensitive to us.
i've very much freaked by the thought of a man down there (i was a virgin til 20 and very modest type of person) my first pregnancy was my first time being 'checked' by anyone and i was very grateful i had females thru out the entire thing even tho i moved states halfway thru! every female i dealt with (i think there were a total of 6 that ever checked me below) were wonderful and very nice to me with exception of a ****** of a nurse during my delivery. i cant really gauge how men are in that area and not sure i'd find out as my husband would not allow me to see a man even if i wanted to, which i dont
