Just a place for general chit chat so that we can all get to know each other better.
FYI: If I disappear for a day or two it's because I am having a dispute with my phone/internet provider. They are saying I didn't make my payment and threatening termination as soon as tomorrow morning. I made the payment, but like an idiot I didn't ask for a reciept and I paid in cash! I usually use my debit card for everything, but it was stolen and I don't have a new one yet, so yeah. Fun fun.

Ugh, of course it has to happen with the phone company. They're the worst! Good luck getting it settled.

Good Luck getting the phone/internet issues settled.
Tomorrow is AJ's 4th birthday and I am a little bit in denial. He has a bit of a sinus infection or something, so I am hoping he is well enough for a couple hours to party with his friends. We are keeping him well medicated in the meantime.

I didn't even realize he was turning four. John Paul just turned four on Monday. It's a good week for birthdays it seems. Hopefully AJ feels up to partying.

I think part of my denial is also that he is starting school later this month (just 2-3 days a week). We got the paperwork in the mail yesterday and it made it much more real (even though I registered him back in February). And he so so dang excited about turning 4 it makes me wanna cry! Just be little a bit longer!

Same here. He starts Pre-K the 18th or 19th and it'll be half day every day. I'm not at all ready for my baby boy to be in school yet.

Awww! I didn't send Will to preschool and he even started school a year late, but it nearly killed me to let him go to school!
As for the phone company. I don't know what the heck we are going to do. I don't have the money to pay it AGAIN, and they are not willing to admit that I paid it. Hopefully they don't turn it off before Friday. Matt gets paid and will make another payment just to get them off our backs. I will NEVER pay them in cash again though.

Start making payments with money order in cases like that. And always get a receipt.

Or write a check if you can so it'll show on your bank statement and you'll have the canceled check on your side. Who knows, the person who took the payment could've pocketed it.

Yeah, I just hadn't gotten used to carrying my checkbook at that point. I have it all the time now.
They have shut my phone off now, but for whatever reason my internet is working (though it wasn't this morning). It could go out at ANY minute though so I'll be around if I can, but if I'm not you'll know why.

I should really learn to carry my check book. I've regretted not having it in the past, but I've only used it once that I can think of since we opened the account.

Yeah, I've had the account for 3.5 years and I think I've written only a handful of checks. The majority of them have bee fairly recently.....since my debt card came up missing!

Did you check your car? That was the occasion for my one and only check. My debit card was missing and I found it under the driver's seat.

Yeah, we checked both vehicles. I'm fairly certain that I know who took it. I canceled it before they could use it. Matt did write them a check for the bill and it's been paid now according to them, so I don't have to worry about them turning off the internet.
I did get some good news over the weekend that I didn't share here. I got a promotion at work and a raise. Not sure exactly how much of a raise at this point, but it is a raise. I won't really have too many more responsibilities on a regular basis either. WOOT! Tonight was my first night training for the new position and while I am REALLY tired, it went smoothly.

Not really. lol I'm a 2nd Assistant. Basically just a back up assistant manager. The only difference is that now I can do the customer service stuff (hunting and fishing licenses, money orders.... things like that) and I have access to the safe and a key to the store now.

Gotcha. We called that third key where I worked. At least you'll have more to do and won't have to call somebody up to help you out with something you know you're capable of doing. Just don't forget your key!

I am looking forward to being able to do more on my own and not having to call up a manager for something that I already know how to do anyway. I am just hoping the new management people are decent. I haven't met them yet. We have lost 2 of our 3 night managers already. One was promoted, the other was pregnant and left because she was just too stressed. Yesterday the third put in her two week notice. lol I just am worried that I am going to be stuck with people who aren't going to do their jobs and are going to push alot of it off on me now. UGH!

Oh I hope not. They need to make sure they bring in smart people with smart management styles so they don't cause the rest of you a lot of grief.

How is everyone doing today? I hope all is well. I'm sorry that I didn't get any daily questions posted today. AF showed last night and the cramps were so bad that i took meds and slefp through the day. Now it's time to head to work and I won't be home until late tonight.
