Do you (honestly, now) consider yourself materialistic at all?

To some extent yes, but no more than anyone else. I mean, it would be nice to have a new truck or a bigger pool (right now I drive a 1997 Ford Ranger and I have a inflatable pool in the back yard that is 8 feet across and 2.5 feet deep). I think that just about everyone wants something just a little better than what they currently have. It's human nature. At the same time though, I am content with what I have. I might not have much as far a material possessions but I have two great kid and a husband who loves me and that is the real important thing. I might always want something a bit nicer than what I have, but I don't NEED it. If my husband said tonight that I could quit my job and just stay home and take care of the house and the kids, I'd do it in a heartbeat KNOWING that it would mean no new truck or bigger pool or other things like that. My family is so much more important than an material possession ever could be!

Like you it's sort of a yes and no. There are things I would like to have, but I'm really happy with what we already have. It's a lot more than either of us had growing up and we're very happy to have the children enjoy a good home. We'll continue to improve things over the years, but it'll be a bit by bit process and I can't see us ever really changing from wanting more than the basics.

To some extent, I agree we all are. I would love more things for me, DH, and our children. The two big things are a bigger house (having a new baby and loosing the guest room is waking me up to how small our house really is) and a second vehicle since mine died in March. But we need to be responsible for them too and not extend ourselves more than we can afford/take care of. I know we have a lot of things that other people our age don't have and I am just thankful for what we can have/afford.

Pretty much ditto to everyone else. There are things I would love to have if we could afford them, but I am content with what we do have. We could have a lot more "stuff" if I worked, but neither me nor DH would trade me being a SAHM for anything.
