Matt and I are thinking ahead to our vacation next year. Yes, I always think that far ahead. It drives Matt insane. He'd rather plan our vacation a few weeks ahead of time. lol

Anyway, so I started thinking about all of the possibilities and it made me wonder, so we are going to play a game.

You have $3000 to spend for travel, food, lodging, and souveniers. Tell us where you are going, how you are going to get there, how long you are going to stay, where you are staying..... all that good stuff.

Okay, I've thought about it and I can only come up with one thing. The nearest nice hotel with pizza and lots of naps. Forget the rest, I want uninterrupted sleep!

I love it Anna! I'm still kind of thinking about mine. Matt and I are considering taking a really nice vacation next summer just for the two of us. It's going to depend on when I have classes and when the kids are gone though. We had thought about taking the train to Denver and staying there for a few days, but I am thinking that maybe I want something a bit more exotic and romantic though! lol

In... 5-6 more years DH's employer will give us something like $10-15k to take an out of country vacation and then you get another every 5 years so we're waiting to plan any big trips until then. I'd kind of like to go to Egypt when the time comes so I can finally see the pyramids in person, but we're more likely to go somewhere like London I think.

Ok, so here is my vacation with $3000.00.
We are going from Osceola IA to Emeryville CA on Amtrak. The round trip tickets (getting sleeping rooms instead of just coach seats) is going to cost $1633.00

We will stay at the Super 8 in Berkeley for $1075.14

That only leaves $300.00 for food and souveniers so I guess we are doing the $ menu at McDonalds ALOT! lol
