It's the first day of September! I can't believe we are in September already, but we are. How is everyone doing? Anyone testing soon? I think most of us are either pregnant, not trying or still waiting to ovulate. We need more new members so I (we) can live vicariously through them. I MISS PEE STICKS!
For me, we seem to be settling into a routine fairly easily (which amazes me)! The routine doesn't leave a lot of time for anything else, but school, work and family time is covered. I don't think I have been on FB or here for more than 5 minutes in over a week!
I did get my first offical college essay graded and while it was a short one (only 300 words) I received full points on it. I was already excited about that but then last night I got a mass email from my biology professor. It was sent to the entire class about that assignment. Basically the majority of the class failed the essay so they get another chance to do it. WOW! The full credit I got seems even more impressive to me now. Especially since I was fairly certain it was a craptastic paper. lol
After turning in 5 or 6 assignments now in my Composition class I have a 96% and the one assignment that wasn't a 100% (an online quiz) can be redone for a higher grade, so it *should* be a 100% by the end of the week. Most of my grade on quizzes and tests will take a bit longer to get back though because they are sent via campus mail from the satelite center where I take most of my classes over to the main campus (over an hour away) just whenever someone is headed that way. lol If I take a quiz today it might take 4 or 5 days before my professor even sees it.
With that said, I am headed out the door to class, but it's a short day so I'll be back this afternoon to check in on you all!

I know what you mean about pee sticks. I've got a CBE Digi that's just begging to be peed on, but it'd be a total waste. The stupid thing is just taunting me. I may have to hide it.
I'm so jealous of you taking classes like that. Nothing that I need right now can be done online so I'm stuck until I have a way to go to classes on campus. With daycare costs that's just not possible. Plus John Paul only goes to school for two and a half hours a day and there's no way I want Sarah in daycare at 6 weeks old.
I ended up getting really sick yesterday and started losing feeling in my limbs and back. Turns out it's mastitis. I never would've guessed a boob problem would cause numb legs. They started me on antibiotics right away though and I'm just tingly today. The human body is a weird thing.
DH might end up changing jobs soon. His boss is essentially being punished for holding up an agreement with the union by having his apprentices taken away. That would mean a different employer, he could end up in construction instead of service, and he'll lose his work truck and gas card. We only have one car so losing the truck would be a big problem and without the gas card he couldn't afford to do his job. No matter what company he works for he'll work on job sites all over MD, WV, VA, DC and some in PA. The gas cost is just crazy. No clue what we'll do if they don't work things out. Oh, and the union is also threatening a strike. It's a mess.

Oh wow. The whole job situation does sound like a mess. I hope that things get straightened out soon.
The satelite campus that I use the most is nice. I am there 4 days a week. I still have to drive to the main campus for my biology lab and one other class so 3 days a week there. The main campus is about 1 hour 20 minutes from my house and the satelite campus is 0nly 25-30 minutes so it's definitly helpful. The downside though is that the instructor can only hear us if we key our microphones and talk into them, so many of the younger students are goofing off and talking during class which makes it difficult to pay attention sometimes.
I'm definitely enjoying classes so far (even if I am EXHAUSTED)! I'm so glad that I decided to go ahead with this! I almost backed out at the last minute.

I O'd a couple of days ago. I'm not a POASer anymore though . I want the next test I take to be positive, so I won't be peeing until I'm like 99.9% sure I'm pregnant. Our chances at this point are like 1-2% each cycle....I don't think there is any point in wasting tests right now.

That's how I got in the end. I was so tired of BFNs I wasn't going to test until I knew what the results were going to be. With my youngest I was at 24DPO? I won't test before AF is due again. It just hurts too much even if you're just testing too early.
DH said there was a union rep at the school tonight and they said they're not pulling the apprentices just yet. They're doing targeted strikes instead. Huge relief!

Well, AJ started preschool on Tuesday. His second day is tomorrow. It was a little hard on me at first, but he loved it and was totally okay with us leaving him with a relative stranger.
Katie is doing pretty good. My glucose test is the 15th. I need to find a sitter for that day since it will take a hour at the minimum and isn't a school day for AJ. My doc didn't do it before, so I have my appt and glucose that day if I have to go to an off site lab (so probably closer to 2 hours).
Tony may be out of a job in a month. Sucks really bad because of EVERYTHING. The mortgage, being pregnant, AJ in school. It just all around stinks! And I have been waiting for AJ to start school to paint Katie's room and now I am wondering if I should or not.

I swear, my kids never tell me ANYTHING!
I was just sitting here watching the news and find out that one of Sierra's schoolmates was STRUCK BY LIGHTNING at the school yesterday! The girl is a bit older than Sierra, but they do know each other. One of the other teens that is mentioned works with me. I know everyone involved in the story.
KCCI - Girl struck by lightning
Somehow both kids knew about this, but didn't think it was something they should tell us. lol
BTW..... the girl is fine. They took her to the hospital where she was checked over and released. She was back in school today.

Christina ~ I hope things work out with your DH's job.
That is just really crazy about the lightning. You'd think everybody would be talking about it and you would've heard. Then again that Discovery hostage situation was in MD and I only saw it on Yahoo!, I didn't see anything on the local channels. I guess people downplay things now or they're just too used to bad stuff for it to get them all excited. We need it to rain sunshine and daisies for a change of pace or something.

I finally made the jump to seek medical help and am feeling very disappointed about the dr that kaiser set me up with for my first infertility appointment I mean i had to get referred by my primary dr just to sit through a 90 min infertility class then i had to call their infertility line and leave a message to get a call back just to book the appointment.
I really shouldn't have looked at the dr's bio since it says this

I practice a full scope of obstetrics and gynecology, but the main focus of my practice is enhancement of fertility.

Just seems like he's a glorified obgyn. I expected to be seeing someone that specializes in infertility

Is there any way you can get a referral to a specialist instead?

No,i guess i shouldn't have assumed kaiser would be good in terms of handling issues with infertility, i guess the fact that they still want patients to do a postcotial test and endomitrial biopsy should have been a clue. We are going to be moving in the next few months and the kaiser hospital closest to where we are moving does actually have 1 Reproductive Endocrinologist and so i'll be sure to request to see her.

I hope you can get in. It doesn't sound like the person they've referred you to will do much good unless they have some sort of certification they don't openly advertise or something.

I'm sorry I have been MIA so much ladies. Adjusting to school has been crazy. That combined with the fact they aren't giving me the number of hours I asked for at work (I asked for 15 I'm getting 20 - 25+!) and I barely have time to sleep! I am finally starting to get into a routine though (I *think*) and I hope to be around here more often.
I'm kind of bummed out right now. A couple of months ago when I first started birth control Matt and I had tossed around the idea of NTNP this cycle and next since that would give us a June or July EDD and I could still continue school. Now he has decided that he thinks it would put to much stress on me during an already stressful time so he wants me to stay on my birth control until my last semester.
I know he is probably right. If I did get pregnant I would want to finsish up this year, but then I would want to stay at home with baby instead of finishing school. that doesn't make me any less upset right now though! lol

I'm right there with you. DH was all about NTNP and letting what's meant to happen just happen. Now that AF has already come back though he's totally against it. I don't want to get pregnant right away and mess up breastfeeding Sarah, but I still couldn't help crying when he did such a sudden flip on me.
I hope you get some rest soon, it sure sounds like you need it.

Wow..you got AF back already!? Mason slept through the night starting at 7 weeks, started solids at 4 months, was down to nursing one time a day and I still couldn't get AF back until I completely weaned him at 10 months. I know a lot of women don't want AF back right away, but I did so we could start TTC asap. Although now that I've had AF back for almost a year and I know how unlikely getting pregnant is for us, I don't know why I was so anxious for her arrival.

Yeah AF decided that I only needed a week long break after the PP bleeding stopped. Talk about a buzz kill. I want to have our next right away, but at the same time I know pregnancy can destroy your supply and would hate for breastfeeding to end when it's finally going so well. I don't really know what to think or feel about it I guess.

Same thing happened to me after AJ. I am pretty sure I didn't ovulate for awhile though. We weren't careful the first 6 months after he was born (okay the first 3 months I had no interest/energy to DTD) and no ooopsies happened. Maybe you can start a charting to avoid system (FAM or NFP) and then you will know for sure if you are having successful cycles. I highly suggest checking out the NFP/FAM board (at the bottom of the TTC boards list).

I might do that. AF was only here for 2 days so waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay not normal for me. It's usually 5-7 days and (TMI) 70+ tampons bad. Not 2 days and light.
