I'm sure at least some of you decorate your home for the different seasons/holidays. I could use some ideas to pretty up our place. It's rented so everything is white except for the brown carpet. I'm pretty limited. No holes in the walls, nothing the kids will yank down or knock over or throw, nothing the cats will shred, etc. Trying to come up with something that won't get destroyed faster than I can put it in place is giving me a headache. So if anybody has any thoughts I'm open to suggestions!

I have two fall things I always pull out (and actually the one hasn't been pulled out yet cause I don't know where to put it this year). One is a scarecrow that is supposed to go across a mantel (which I don't have). I usually put it on a bookshelf but AJ's stuff is taking them all over right now.

The other thing I have is a fiber optic jack-o-lantern. Plug it in and instant pumpkin. That's it really for Fall.

Christmas we go more all out - we have lighted strings of garland, the tree, etc.

You could always just do candles (fall scents and colors).

I don't really have anywhere to put candles unfortunately. A mantel thing might work though if my bookshelf is wide enough. I'll have to check those out.

Most of our decorations are outside. We have several different scarecrows, a couple pumpkins and apple gourds, a fall welcome mat and a thing haning on the door. Closer to Halloween I have an inflatable Frankenstein I put out and a few other small things. I generally buy some cheap window clings to put in the front windows too. They are reuseable, but so cheap that I generally just toss them and start over again the next year.

Tomorrow is my short day, (just 2 classes and no work, WAHOOO!) so I will try to take a couple of pictures to share.

Yay for short days! That must feel so nice right now and I'd love to see pics.

We can't do anything outside. We share our front patio with the neighbors who have set it up as a smoking area. They're only using "half", but their "half" doesn't leave us much space. I can't wait to be able to buy a place so we can actually make it look like our place and not have to deal with close neighbors. We want to buy something out in the country. It'll still be awhile before that happens though.

Do they make window clings that go on the outside? Cookie eats the indoor ones.

I get some at the dollar store that actually do work better on the outside.

I didn't get to take pictures today. Sierra had a last minute science project (I thought she forgot to tell me, but apparently it really was a case of the teacher waiting until the last minute to assign it) and that took all day to do. GRRR.

I actually get almost a week off from my main job after tomorrow though, so I'll definitely remember to take some pictures this weekend.
