Even the most responsible mommas sometimes have items that tempt them to splurge on something just for themselves.
What is tempting you to splurge right now?
What was the last thing you splurged on for yourself?
What is the last thing you splurged on for someone else?
What is tempting you to splurge right now? New carpet for my downstairs! lol I know that would kind of be for the entire family, but honestly, the rest of them pay no attention to the carpet. The 'newest' carpet in my house is nearly 20 years old. The carpet in my entry way and dining room is nearly 50 years old. Yeah, you read that right. 50! It is worn completely through in MANY spots, so I have throw rugs EVERYWHERE. I just want new carpet so I don't have to look at this crap anymore!
What was the last thing you splurged on for yourself? My last splurge for me is actually kind of for DH too. I bought Microsoft Office 2010 a couple weeks ago. I had another free word processor that I was using, but when I saved documents in rich text format (required for most of my classes because I submit things online) it screwed with my formatting and cause some real problems for me. I was able to save from my computer and then access files on the school computer to correct the formatting issues before submitting, but it was such a pain that I splurged to avoid the headache.
The other 'splurge' is kind of a necessity. I also bought a pair of snowboots. I have survived 3.5 winters out here without buying snowboots, but it's a really pain. Because this year I will be driving further and there is a higher risk of ending up stranded and having to walk in the winter, I bought boots the same day that I bought Microsoft Office.
What is the last thing you splurged on for someone else? This would be Matt's Christmas present this year. We budgeted $200 to spend on each other for Christmas. I had already spent about $140 of it when I found out that my store was selling 40" Toshiba HD LCD tv's for Black Friday. Matt has been wanting a big TV since I moved out here in 2006, so I overspent on Christmas by about $600 when all is said and done. (After I bought the tv I decided he needed some new video games and blu ray movies to go with it! lol) He already knows about the TV .......I didn't exactly have a place to hide it. I still can't wait till he sees everything else I got for him. This is definitely going to be our best Christmas yet!
