Hi! I was curious about your thoughts on a potential name for my unborn child. I don't exactly know the gender yet but I have an ultra sound on Wednesday. I don't like my family names because they're common and repetitive. (3 Andrews, 9 Louies, 3 Jameses) I am from Pittsburgh and a huge football fan. I was thinking of Ben. Not Benjamin, but just simply Ben. It'll be easier for him to write in Kindergarten if it's a boy, which everyone thinks the baby is. Any comments? I know players come and go but I like the name Ben. Thank you in advance!

I love the name Ben! I see your point about just keeping it short and easy, but I think that it might be nice for him later in life to have the option of using a long formal name that would be a bit more professional and a short more relaxed nickname. I would write Benjamin on his birth certificate, but introduce him as Ben to everyone!

Great name! Congratulations

I never even thought of the professional aspect. Thank you for that suggestion! I'm SO using it!

We named our daughter Roxy. Not Roxanne. Just Roxy. I think just Ben is cute!

I like the idea of naming him Benjamin, but calling him Ben. It gives him the option later in life! Great idea thatonegirl226!!

My son's name is Tony... not Anthony. So I like your "Ben" idea
