About How much extra do they make a month while deployed?
With deployment coming up, a lot of people have been telling Dh about the crazy good money he will make while he's gone. I figured it was a few hundered a month but people have told him that he'll be making close to double what he is now a paycheck. Which is more accurate? I'm trying to get an idea so i can budget and figure out what bills i can expect to be able to pay off.
Thanks to Bokkechick for my siggy.
Our pay didn't increase until almost 2 months after he left. He was making another 7 hundred a month I want to say? Definitely helps. I have friends that were able to save up 10,000.00+ while their husbands were gone.
Kaley. 23. Married to my high school sweetheart Josh for 4 wonderful years.
I was figuring on closer to 500 not the double he was being told.
But he's the spender between the two of us so with him away i won't be out spending near as much money as we do now, plus i'll spend way less groceries and gas. Between that and the extra pay i should be able to pay a good bit of our debt off.
It's a good chunk of change. And really their expenses over there are very very small. You'll also only need to buy groceries for yourself and a toddler...that helps. The chance to save money and pay off debt is definitely one (maybe the only one?) good part of the deployment.
