There has been talk of deployment in DH's unit for quite some time, but he's supposedly deploying next year.. He just got notified yesterday that next month, what was supposed to be family day was canceled and they have to report to the processing unit for readiness processing. They have already done their yearly readiness processing and PHA for this fiscal year. From what I have heard/seen SRP is only for units that are about to deploy soon. Anyone else know something different?
I hope there is too. I can't blame ypu for wanting for time with him.
I don't know if they do SRP any other time, this is the first i've ever heard of it.
Dh told me last night that they usually do SRP for deployment around the 90 day mark, though dh's has a good bit more than 90 days left before deployment.
Thanks to Bokkechick for my siggy.
For Active duty units SRP is a quarterly thing that units do to make sure their Soldiers are in deployable health regardless of upcoming deployments. However a unit may do SRP more often if they are gearing up towards deployment

Some units do SRP just to make sure that their soldiers are ready for deployment at all times, but for the most part most units never actually do it until its time for a deployment. Hopefully, he has one of those units that actually just do it quarterly. My unit will be deploying in December and they started SRP in October.
