DH left for deployment a few days ago. There have been lots and lots of tears.
It's been rough but we're starting to get in a routine to help the days pass. I've decided that I'm really going to work on losing weight while he's gone. The exercise takes up a good chunk of time. And Alex keeps me busy a good part of the day too. I'm thankful that she's still young enough that this deployment won't be too upsetting for her. I think she's kinda noticed he's not around but she doesn't seem to be missing him too much.

And I'm hoping to get my first skype call in the next day or so

Here's hoping the next 9 months or so go by quickly!

I hope you guys celebrated a nice early Christmas before he left.

Your weight loss plan sounds like a good one. Deployments are the best time to lose weight and work out. Plus the excitement of showing him the "new you" is always great.

I hope the time goes by quickly as well. ((hugs))

He had block leave around Thanksgiving so we did Christmas then. Still sucks today with him gone on actual christmas. we've decided we are going to go all out next year since we don't have a tree or any decorations this year.

Having trouble so far on my diet, i'm an emotional eater. I'll get there though. It's so much easier to do when he's away because i'm not cooking all the terrible for us foods we really like lol. Plus with so much time to kill in a day, a 2+ hour walk helps fill up the day a bit.

I hope this 9 months go fast and I think having a goal to work towards while he is gone is a great idea! It will keep you busy and always positive!

DH leaves in 3 days for 9 months. I'm glad we made it thru the holidays together, but we celebrated our Christmas on the 8th because his dates kept changing. Hang in there! I was supposed to be doing the weight loss thing with him leaving and instead I'm doing the don't gain too much while preggo thing, lol.

Christmas day was hard even though we did our Christmas earlier. But i'm doing ok so far. I'm handling it better than i figured i would.

I worked on losing weight last time he was gone when he was at basic and ait and lost 60lbs (40lb was baby weight since he left 2 weeks after she was born). I've gained 30 back but that's ok becuae i'm gonna get it off soon. Focusing on it helped tremendously when he was away last time.
