I did a MOPS group for several months. It wasn't nearly as cool as the kind of stuff you'll be doing, but it was still nice. Usually churches sponsered the group and they would have staff available to watch the kids - which were divided into age groups. Then, all of us moms would get together for refreshments, chit-chat, crafts, and different topics. They'd usually have a speaker come out for the topics which ranged from Handling Finances to Improving Your Marriage and that kind of thing.
They meet twice a month. Once or twice a year, they'd have a couple's dance so we could meet each other's DH's.
Allison, you could check to see if there is one in your area, if you're interested.

They do not meet in the summer and I had Max in June of last year. I decided not to restart it in the Fall. I didn't like that it started at 9am. My kids do not wake up until 9-9:30am, so I'd have to wake them up 1+ hours earlier then their normal schedule. And, at the time, Isabella (at 17-21 months)
hated being left with someone she did not know. In the several months we went, she never got used to it.
