hey ladies were home ill tell you first what exactly happened and go from there.

So on monday around 5:30 she woke up from a nap and she was REALLY hot, she had been sick since 8 the night before with fevers and pukeing i figured it was a normal flu or something they both just had that recently. So anyway i went to my neighbors to ask to use her thermometer because for some reason mine wouldnt work anymore..neither of them!! So she came over and did it and dakotas temp was 105 so i ran and called seans mom to take us up to the hospital, because dk was already on tempra and stuff that clearly wasnt working.

So seans mom was getting gauge ready and i ran upstairs to grab dakotas favorite blanket and some clothes. I left her on the couch, i was up there for about a minute or two when i heard a loud bang, and i knew it was dakota falling off the couch so i ran back down and she was seizing on the floor. I panicked and screamed omg, and seans mom said to call 911. So i grabbed the phone and im like i dont know what..how do i.... so i froze up and seans mom called i felt horrible after for that...

the firemen showed up first and came in, at that point the seizure had stopped..it lasted anywhere between 1 and 4 minutes we arent sure because of us both panicking. So dakota was just laying on the floor they came in to check on her. She stopped breathing close to the end of the seizure because she had thrown up during, but her jaw was closed so tight we couldnt get it out so after the seizure stopped it all just poured out and she coughed a bit. But she still wouldnt respond to anyone she was just stareing off and her body wasnt moviing at all she didnt make a sound. So the paramedics came in right after and i was REALLY scared at that point because they scooped her up right away and carried her out to the truck and said whoever is comeing with her jump in now so i got in... and they had the lights on the whole way to the hospital..

so we got there and she still wasnt responding to anyone but her eyes were still open she just wasnt seeing anyone or anything...finally after being there for 5 minutes she started to cry...they took some blood work, gave her an IV....the blood worked show the high white blood cell count so they did a chest x-ray to try and find an infection. We stayed that night......all through the night she had fevers come and go..they would come..be at 105...shed have her tylenol and they would slowly go back down we had to cover her in cold wet cloths to bring them down faster..and every 4 hours when she was due for more medicine it would be back up at 105.... and the whole next day went like that too she didnt even leave bed at all or sit up she just layed there... the next night we had to stay too..i went out for a walk with sean and gauge to get a bit of a break while seans mom stayed with her..we came back 40 minutes later and she was back up at 105, so it went up really fast.. so we stayed that night..the next morning they said they still dont know what it is and wanted to keep her ANOTHER night. SO finally 3 nights later were home. Today shes eating and walking around she seems fine...she hasnt had a fever at all her last one was last night around 10. The doctor said they have no idea what she had / has but to keep a close eye on her because they couldnt find what it was she could still have it or it could be gone they arent sure so im just watching her very closely.. it freaks me out because a doctor has never told me before they have no idea why my child is sick..they couldnt even pass it off as a virus or a flu... they had the bacterial culture thing done the night she got there so it had to sit for 48 hours..but showed nothing..

oh and, when she fell off the couch she hit her head and landed on her pinky finger, so her head has a bump and her finger is all bruised up they have it taped up for a couple days so she doesnt try to use it at all and she has to be on antibiotics for a week..

:dothug Brie!! I'm so sorry you guys had to go through that, I can't imagine how scary it is to witness your child having a seizure, or the lack of response from her after. It's shocking that Dr's don't always know whats wrong, but sounds like they took every precaution they could. I'm glad her fever is down and she's home now. Keep us posted on how she's doing, ok?

Has Gauge shown any of the symptoms?

Wow, that's so scary! I'm glad she's feeling better and walking and eating. It's scary that the doctors couldn't give you a better idea of what's going on - did they do blood tests and other cultures?

Brie that is soo scary! I'm sorry both you and DK had to go threw that! When I was her age that EXACT same thing happened to me, my white cell count was up and so on... I had an infection in my blood! I hope she recovers quickly and that NEVER happens again!

That is REALLY scary. Don't feel bad you froze up. We all respond differently to situations like that. Some people can take charge and some people are just so freaked out that they freeze. It's understandable!

I hope nothing happens again and that the doctors can figure out what happened so maybe it can be prevented from ever happening again.

Just popping in from another PR.

HUGS Briena, that had to be absolutely terrifying. I'm very glad that she seems to be doing better and your other little one seems okay. Since they couldn't find anything at the doctor it could possibly be Roseola. I know a few kiddos in our PR have had it in the past few months.

Here is a link Roseola

Just thought the information might help. With Roseola doctors don't usually know thats what it is until after the rash shows up.

I hope she continues to feel better!!! HUGS
