Our dog had been on heat roughly about a week ago. We had a stud come around and try to breed with her but he never seemed to actually get knotted up with her so we didn't think she was in pup. Then the last 2 days shes gone off her food, her eyes have been weepy and shes been lethargic. We spoke to a vet and they said not to worry that it sounded like she had lethargy give her a few days and she'll be right. Tonight we let her come inside and she was asleep on my bed. We've only just decided to go to bed and he went in to check on her and shes completely soaked in blood all up the back of her legs and on my bed. There are some little clots as well. We gave her some water and she drank it up as if shes dehydrated. Could she be suffering a miscarriage? Its almost 1am now I don't know what to do

How scary! Have you researched anything on the google about dog miscarriages? I'd definitely call my vet first thing in the morning unless there's an on call vet at night. I know they have those here in my area. Good luck Emma

Call the vet! They should have an on call vet that you can talk to or bring her in.

Yea, def take her to the emergency vet! There's no reason for her to be bleeding that much, it could be a miscarriage or a uterine rupture, but she definitely needs to be seen!

Not sure yet she is still at the vets and they haven't phoned. She had a bacterial infection in her uterus can't think of the name, it wasn't caused by pregnancy or anything its just one of those random rare things. Anyway they had to operate on her and give her a hysterectomy. It's cost us $800 I'm so annoyed because we only took this dog in a few months ago because its owner was going to shoot it but at least she's okay...

Yep thats it Sarah!! My baby is home now poor thing, she had to spend an extra 2 nights at the vet because her blood count was low so she was anemic but she's doing better now and it only ended up costing 500
