Michelle Duggar Has a Miscarriage: 19 Kids and Counting: TLC

She is 45 years old now...Personally I think she should start adopting. A lot safer, a lot of kids need homes and why risk another baby's life? She almost lost Josie, and now she just miscarried in her second trimester. Like they are just being selfish now.

I know their whole philosophy is that they will have as many as God allows them but IMO, I think she's selfish. I'm terribly sorry they lost a child but just because God gives you working ovaries and uterus doesn't mean you should just keep going. She needs to think of all 19 of her children because she is really pushing it and I would hate for something to happen to her during child birth. I can't even watch their show, I'm appalled at how the older kids have to help raise the younger kids. What about their childhood?

I agree, now its affecting not only her unborn children's health, but her own. She is fast approaching 50! She needs to think of the children she has already, and shes getting grandchildren now! If she needs a new baby around, there will be plenty more in her life time, from her children alone.

My heart goes out to them first and foremost. But enough is enough when she is endangering the lives of her children.

Well said Kendra! That is exactly how I feel. Having been through loss's, it is heart breaking. But she has a LOT of children, it is time to focus on them and her health.

Josies birth was completely unrelated to her age or the fact that it was her 19th pregnancy, it could of happened to a young first time mother just as much as it happened to her 19th. My heart goes out to them, 1st or 20th my heart breaks that they are going through this.

I agree with Emma, Josie's preterm birth was due to complications with Michelle's gallbladder (which she eventually had to have taken out). The Pre-E was due to the stress that the pain from the gallstones put her in from everything I have read and seen. This could have happened to anyone.

I also like the Duggar family, and if Dusty would let me I would probably have 19 kids too lol. My heart goes out to them and they are in my prayers.

I feel awful for them that they have to go through another loss. I feel that if they think their sign from god was losing their second child to a miscarriage, now that they have lost their 20th to a miscarriage, they should just stop having children and enjoy the kids they have. I understand that they have their religious beliefs, but even in their religion have they stopped to think that at the age of 45, if her child graduates high school at 18 she will be 63 years old, and what is the average life span of a person who is perfectly healthy now days? She will be lucky to be able to spend time with the children and grandchildren she has, instead of keep trying to have kids after the fact that you came so close to loosing one baby, and now you have lost another one.

I agree with Emma, this could just as easily have happened to someone pregnant with their first child. I have absolutely no issue with them or how many children they have and my heart goes out to them completely. If they don't agree with birth control and want to have as many children as God will bless them with, that's their own decision and I respect them for it.
