So I had surgery Monday. It got moved to first thing in the morning, and it was nice that I woke up and went so early. The anesthesiast(sp) was BEAUTIFUL and he was so nice and gentle. I got my IV in, got some relaxing medicine, a "Margarita x3" as he called it, and back we went. I remember going into the OR, and laying on the table. My surgeon walked in with a blanket around his shoulders and smiled, the sleepy time dr rubbed my head, then I was out, then I woke up. I had a HORRIBLE headache when I woke up and my throat hurt so bad, plus this machine was going off saying I wasn't breathing. I started yelling at the RN and she just kept telling me that I had to eat. I hit the pudding out of her hand and told her I couldn't take the pain, and she literally stormed out. Another nurse came in and got me to recovery with my family. I was bawling it hurt so bad, and the original nurse kept telling me to breathe. I told her I was and if the machine said I wasn't then she needed to do something because I was taking deep breaths. Come to find out she was a brand new nurse, and was completely overwhelmed with me. It turns out my blood pressure was THROUGH THE ROOF, like 180/110 so she gave me meds to bring that down, then headache, then more BP meds, then more headache. I got my clopez bracelet, a little black rubber bracelet t hat I wear for my friend who died, and I said I quick prayer telling him I needed him and I couldn't take the pain, and I put my bracelet on and literally felt better. I got to go home and when I got here my brother was here within minutes with flowers and he sat and helped me change my dressings and stuff while my mom and aunt went and shopped for food. I have been sleeping on and off since monday for about an hour at a time. I am still caught up in class and stuff, I just had NO IDEA how much pain I would be in. I am miserable, from the pressure in my ears and head from the sinus surgery, the swallowing and breathing pain from the tonsils, the nose tenderness and bleeding from the shrinking part, and my tounge is killing me from what must have been a clamp or something while I was asleep. My face is so so swollen, but I have lost 15 pounds since I Monday. I was on a soft diet, now today since my Dr said I am having a slower recovery process I am switched. I am now on a baby food diet, so I called my sister for advice on what brands and flavors lol. I am supposed to be starting work tomorrow but my boss is very cautious about me going in sore and stuff. I am falling asleep as I type so I better get, just wanted to give you all an update.
