is in so much pain right now. I just want to cry too.

Today was her 12 month well baby, and we all know what happens at those....SHOTS

Well she only got 3 shots, 2 in her right let, 1 in her left. The 1 in her left leg was her MMR vaccine. The nurse told me it would burn when she injected the meds, and she would probably, more than likely, get a fever almost immediately. I waited to 10 minutes to make sure she didn't have an allergic reaction, and then we left. We got about 5 minutes down the road, and she began SCREAMING! Not a whine, whimper, or cry, a blood curdling scream. (Mind you the doc's office is 30+ minutes away from home.) I pulled over into a parking lot, gave her a dose of Tylenol, and her bottle. The Tylenol must have relived just enough pain for her to nod off for 10 minutes, but then she was screaming again.

Now that we are home, she is permanantly attached to me. I can't sit her down to go pee! I feel really bad because my princess is going through so much hell, but there is nothing I can do for her other than comfort, Tylenol, and massaging her thighs.

Ugh, sorry for this worthless thread, but I really just want to bawl right now .

On a better note, she is 29 1/4" and up to 20 lbs 2 oz which is so AWESOME! We were concerned about her weight gain from about 6 months. She weighed the same amount of pounds for 4 consecutive months. At her 9 month wellbaby, she was only in the 10 of 50th %, now she is in the 35 of 50th %. She is still tall, but getting closer to average heighth for her age group.

I'm sorry she's not feeling good from the shots this morning! Hopefully in a couple of days all will be back to normal!

Thanks you guys. We just had a snack, and the Tylenol seems to be helping because she is dosing off, but she is still attached to me. I barely got her to stay in her highchair while we were eating! Maybe she'll let me lay her down once she konks out.

Mummy2b- don't sweat it! I'm sure he'll do awesome. Just give him lots of extra lovin' and fever reducer too! Supposedly if you give your baby Tylenol 30 minutes prior to the shots, it helps alot better than giving it to them afterwards!

I actually just did this with Brooke on Thursday when she went for her shots and I noticed a difference. A g/f of mine has this cream that numbs their skin that you put on 30 minutes before the appt and she said her lil one doesnt even cry! So Brooke goes back for more shots on the 16th of July and Im going to use some of the cream and see if that works!

I live in the US, and here in Texas you get your license at 16. I have been legally driving since 15, because then I got a hardship on acount of me being a mommy.

Oh yeah, it def. hurt me, but this is the most painful shot she will ever have to get, other then the 2nd dose she gets in Sept.

The nurse told me that no matter what I did the following things would happen:

- Leg would knot up where the injection was made
- She will have an ugly bruise
- Her leg will be very tender, weak, and sore
- For the next two weeks, she is prone to a high fever, and I need to watch how high it gets because she may end up in the ER.

I love that my nurses and doctors are honest, but sometimes it scares the crapola outta me!

Poor little thing. Shots are soo bad, I hate takeing Ethan in for his. I made Matt take him last time and the nurse told me after they came out that Matt is worse than I am and he almost fainted when Ethan got the shot. Now Matt never wants to do it again.

LOL @ Katty! I wouldn't hold Joshlynn. When she went in for her newborn screening @ 1 week old, I told them I couldn't hold her, and they put her in one of the 'beds' while they pricked her foot and took the blood. And up until her 9 months appointment, I couldn't even be in the room with her while she got shots! I always made either Joshua or my mom go with me, but that time I had nobody who was avaliable, so i had to go by myself. I cried and cried and cried. I must have sat in the room for 15 minutes after the nurse left, before I came out, just so I could stop bawling!

Poor little baby, she cannot even understand why she is going through all of that pain. You are a good mother and keep up the good work showering her with love letting her know everything will be okay.

I want Jesse to take Austin to his, but he works the reg. 8-5 hours which are also doctor hours. Jesse was used to watching them give shots and iv's to Austin from when he was born. So he handles it better than i do. *sigh* oh well, Austin really wants his *mommmy* after they make the booboo
