Someone told me at work to not lay on my right side while being pregnant... is this true? She said it wouldn't get enough oxygen... just wondering

My ob said it was fine but its better for the left side because the vein that goes to your uturs is on the right and if your on your left its more open, but you can lye on your right, and normally thats the rule for 5mo+ but before that you can still lye on your tummy.

I was still lying on my right side and my tummy for a while. Now I mainly sleep on my left because the baby is always on my right and it's uncomfortable to be on my right.

I asked my OB, she said both sides doesn't matter. Usually if you wanna check the baby's kick count its better to be on your left. But I'm pretty far along, and just a few nights ago laying on my tummy got uncomfortable, and I mostly always lay on my left side cuz its more comfy for me!

Ditto to what most of everyone said i pretty much slpet however i could!! lol you will know what im talking about once you get bigger. They say your left side because it helps blood flow to you and the baby(5 months +) pretty much you will know when not to lay that way because it will be uncomfortable for you like you wont be getting enough blood flow to your legs KWIM?

I was never told either way.

I could still sleep on my belly at 32 weeks...so I did that some.

You can lay on either side-it's just that laying on your left side lets you get more oxygen. I sleep on both sides and sometimes my back still.

Laying on your left does provide more circulation of oxygen but it doesn't matter really. It also takes pressure off certain arteries that cause pain.

Ditto, I got told it wasn't really important.

When the baby gets bigger and heavier (like a few girls said 5mths +) thats when some people think you need to lie that way. But it's not crucial, i never did! I tried to but always woke up on my back or my other side!
