My poor Joshua has been at work for 18 hours now. He didn't get to sleep until 11 o'clock lastnight because of working late, and he had to be at work at 4 o'clock this morning to drive to Arkansas. It's about a 6 1/2 hour drive 1 way. They were only supposed to "pick up machinery" that would take 1 hour, and it ended up taking 3. I called him at 7:00 because I was getting worried since I hadn't heard from him, and he said he had just crossed the border back into Texas about 10 minutes prior to my calling him. The part that really sucks is that he hasn't seen Joshlynn in 48 hours. Well he sees her when he gets home, but she's in bed asleep and he just kisses her and tells her "Daddy's home and I love you". All day today she has been walking around throwing her hands in the air and saying "Dada?". It is so cute but at the same time I just want to let the water works flow because I know she misses her Daddy, but she doesn't understand that he can't see her because he's working his butt off to buy her all the toys her little heart desires.
On the other hand, the O/T rocks. He was off Monday for the holiday, so he was going to work all day Saturday (he usually only works a half day) to compensate for the lost money from the day off. So now he'll get to spend the WHOLE weekend with her, which I know just totally pleases the both of them. And something even better....We are getting Trysten on Sunday afternoon, and supposed to be keeping her until school starts again!
Okay, so sorry if you just waisted your time by reading this worthless 'rant' of mine, but if you made it this far, how was your day? Anything you want to get off your chest? Do you ever feel like just screaming?! LOL.
That sucks that he hasnt seen her!?! I know how that is some nights Jake gets home and Brookes asleep for the night! But at least he will get to spend the weekend with her.
Im doing ok...wish i could figure out what Im going to do if Jake gets this job~ UGHH its so frustrating but we\'ll figure something out..we always do!

I know exactly how you feel sweetie. Chris works for Verizon, and he gets jobs and sometimes is on call. He leaves in the morning at 6:45 and sometimes doesn\'t get hom until 8:30 or 9:00pm and Rylee is in bed. There have been nights where he is stuck on a job and doesn\'t get home until the next day at 5:00pm. I just tell myself, that this is why I am one of the lucky ones to be able to stay home.
Josh didn't get home until 11 o'clock lastnight. That was 19 hours at work! And then they said they wanted him to go back today, but that he wasn't going to leave until 8:00 am! Could you imagine?! He left at 4:00 am yesterday and didn't get home until 11:00 and now they wanted him to wait 4 hours to leave! The difference alone puts him back here at 2 am, then you have to figure rush hour traffic because of when he'll be leaving! He told them "F*** YOU. Thats rediculous" so instead he is back doing his normal job and ALOT happier.
It's weird. When he got home he was telling me that they wanted him to go again at 8 am and he said he would go but it would be at 4 am. So if they found someone to unload the truck, they would call in 45 minutes and let him know to be up there at 4 again. He said he didn't mind going, because it was worth the O/T, but he was so exausted. Then when he went to bed, he couldn't fall asleep. And he kept hitting the 'snooze' button on the alarm this morning. I feel so bad for my baby! Atleast it's over and I know if he has to do it again, he won't mind.
Just thought I'd add that the guy he was driving with, had made 43 hours O/T with that trip, and then he went back again this morning. So add about another 19 hours to that, making that 62 hours being paid time and a half which put him at $19/hr. Thats $1178 in overtime alone! Plus his average $500 a week paycheck! So for this week only, the guy made $1,678!! Holy crap! Now I see why Joshua wouldn't mind doing it. Wow thats alot of money to ride in a truck for 13 hours. LOL
i know what you mean. after ashlyn was born my husband quit his job because we were going to relocate in eastern oregon. he had a job waiting for him at the new place but in one month he worked the total of 16 hours... we decided to move back because the company was screwing him.so he asked to get relocated within the company. now we are back in portland metro area. he has been working everyday for the last month. i barely see him. he goes to work at 4 in the afternoon and doesnt come back til early morning or late morning. when he comes home he kisses ashlyn on the head and kiss me and goes to sleep. i wake up and take ashlyn out of our room so he can sleep with out interruptions. after working over 100 hours every pay period he got promoted. im excited. now we can start paying off bills that we couldnt due to lack of hours/money in eastern oregon.
ashyln is getting so big and he is missing it. it just makes me so sad. some days i feel all alone because ashlyn would do something like roll over and i will see it and be like hey hun ashlyn rolled over did u see it? and realize no one is home to see her do her amazing things.
I think we have pretty good in the schedule department,,, well James does. He's a supervisor on midnights so he'll be on midnights indefinately.... therefore he gets to miss the whole getting up in the night thing and I have to do that alone,, but he gets lots of time to see the baby still.
