I want to put a stroke around this image. And for some reason the color is stuck on this grey. I can't seem to change it no matter how many times I put in different colors. I've changed the color in the text tool and defaulted the colors to black/white.

Any tips or ideas? I'd really like a blue stroke please!

Hmm, did you change your image to gray scale? That'll do it. If that's not it, let me know.

Hmm... I have no idea... I'm trying to look.

Are you adding the stroke from Edit> stroke? Make sure under 'blending' your mode is normal.

If that doesn't work.. Try this:

add a drop shadow from this menu, even if you won't use this exact shadow. (you can change it later)

Then, on that layer you'll see a little starburst. Double click on it to open this menu.

click the box next to 'stroke'. It will automatically choose red as the stroke color.

click the red square next to the stroke line.. (it shows up white in this shot, but i circled it in orange) and change the color to white!

You can also adjust the size of your drop shadow too. Let me know if that doesn't fix it.

ETA Ok Rachel's right...it was turned to grayscale. How the heck I did that I just don't know! And Maddie you shared a great tip! I never knew that I could double click the starburt to get the style menu. I always was going through the menu. This way is quicker!

Glad you figured it out Virginia! Thanks for the screen shots Maddie! I think I'll see if Ann can add this to the FAQ section.
