I just got PhotoShop Elements 6.0. I've edited a photo and added a frame, now when I try to copy that photo the copy option isn't available. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Are you sure you are on the right layer? Make sure you are on the right layer in the layer palette.

Yeah, I had already merged my image so I only had one layer. I finally got it to copy by selecting the whole image with the selection tool. Thanks though. I'm used to working with Paint Shop Pro, there are alot of differences in these two programs. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to save my own custom shapes...

Well, I know with PS you have to hit Edit > Select all before you copy and paste and I'd have to go open up PSE to be sure, but I am pretty sure it's the same way. You can't just click on the layer and hit copy like you can with PSP. I just hadn't thought about that when you asked the question.

In PSE 6.0 when I click edit, there isn't a select all option. Am I missing something? The only way I've found to copy my image is to select it using the selection tool.

Okay, found it. You need to go to Select > All then Edit > Copy and Edit > Paste.

The other thing you can do is double click on the layer in the layer palette to unlock it if it is locked. If it isn't locked you don't have to do do that. Then you can hold down the control key and click on the layer in the layer palette and that will select the whole layer too.

Thanks! Now if I can just figure out how to save frames and elements, I'll be set.

I am not sure what you are asking?Save them from PS? Save them from websites and get them into PS?

to copy in PSE 6.0 the shortcuts are CTRL+A(to select all) then CTRL +C to copy(or CTRL+Shift+C to copy a merged item) and of course, CTREL+V to paste.
