I have a trial of PSE 6 right now, but am planning on buying the full version. I have used Gimp for a long time now, so I'm not a newbie to siggy making, although PSE is quite different. I have done the tutorials here already and have moved on to other things. My only problem right now is that when I try to rotate one of my layers, all the layers rotate. I have checked to make sure they are not linked together, and they're not. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. TIA for any help.

I have tried and tried to duplicate this error and the only thing I can think of is maybe you have all the layers highlighted in the layer palette. I'd try closing PSE and starting it up again and see if that works.

no it does it with mine. i have found what works is to open a new blank work area and then drag the layer you want on to there and then rotate it and then drag it back. i know it seems like a lot, but when i start a siggy i just open two blank ones to start and use the second one over and over for rotating. i just delete the layer in there when i don't need it any more.

Okay, I don't have PSE6 only PSE5 so maybe that's why I can't duplicate the error, but I think I may have found the solution for you.

I found this here. http://www.scrapsofmind.com/2007/06/30/scr...ve-your-layers/

# If you want to rotate a layer but not the entire image make sure you use the layers command section at the bottom of the Image>Rotate menu.

I use pse6 and have not had this problem. When I want to rotate something in my siggy I select the move tool, then click on what I want to rotate..this puts the selection marks around that layer. Now you click on the small circle at the bottom of the selection marks and rotate the image. Let me know if you'd like screen shots and I'll post them.

Ok try this. Click on the layer you want to flip...then click on Image at the top of the screen then go to Rotate...click either Rotate Layer Vertical or Horizontal. Does that help?

That's what I've been doing, but was hoping there was an easier way.
