How do I make see thru text on PS 7.0? You know where it just looks like whatever your background is with an outline? I thought it was just an opacity trick but it didn't work.

It's the Glass Text. I did a tutorial for it. I'll see if I can find the link for you.

Here it is. It might be different since you're using 7.0. If you have trouble let me know.

Changing the layer mode is what makes it see through. Sometimes I use the eye candy plug in and use the multiply layer mode with it.

Mmmmm, I've done the glass text before but I don't think that is it. Here is an example. I hope it's okay to use this sig as an example, if the owner has a prob I can take it down.

I believe that is done the same way as the glass text except you dont have a bevel on it. I would think that you make your text white and just put a stroke on it and then change the blending option to multiply so it is clear. I hope that makes sense.

Okay, here is what I did....

Here are my blending options...make sure that your blending option is set to multiply from the drop down box highlighted in the red box.

And here is the outcome.

For the text, I chose white and choose an off white stroke at 3 px. I put the drop shadow at 60%, with a distance of 4 and a size of 4. My angle is off but its okay. I did not add a bevel to this one, but I did try it with a bevel and it really looked the same, just a little different dimension to it. Maybe this will help some?

Okay, since it's my siggy I can tell you how I did it. The text was typed in black colored font. I put a white stroke on it and in the layer palette I switched the blending mode to soft light. Oh and I set the opacity to 70%.

Now that I just played around with it you get a very similar effect doing it Shannon's way with white text and multiply.

Lol, I thought the same exact thing when I switched it to your way. They are slightly different, but really close.

Here is my version using the way you did it and I like how it gives it some depth even with the drop shadow! Thanks for the tip!! You learn something new every day!!

I guess it helps to add it, huh....

I must be missing a step or something because I tried both ways and it's still not quite as it appears on your siggys. The white stroke dissapears when I change the opacity.

Okay I did it, but by accident. I was playing around with it cause I am making a sig for someone and I followed the instructions all over again and it worked. I must have missed a step before now but now I know how to do it. If I can remember how to next time lol. Thank you both of you for helping me!

Yay! I was just about to make you screen shots, but figured I'd go read your update to make sure you hadn't figured it out already.

Oh thank god you didn't already make screen shots, I'd feel terrible if you had and wasted your time.

I posted the sig in pickups a second ago, if you want to take a peek feel free to. I think I did it right?

Just curious, what text did you use for Kristin's name? It's nice.
