I am popping in from the photography forum and was wondering if one of you ladies wouldnt mind helping me

I have some photos that I need to resize for printing and Gimp is what I've been using for all of my photoediting. They need to be 8X10 and 300DPI . I have tried scaling them but it significantly distorts the pics. Is there another way I could do this? Cant seem to figure it out!

TIA!!

I'm not familiar with GIMP myself, but we do have some here who are. For PSE I can use the crop feature. Set it to 8x10 at 300dpi and just crop. But I don't know how that works in GIMP. I'll let your GIMP users know about your question.

If you go into Image and then click on scale image try putting in the size you need and see if that makes it better. (that is if you were scaling by hand first)

How are you scaling them?

This is what I do:
Image>scale image
change image size to inches and make sure size & width are locked
change height to 8 (width will be 10.667)
Set resolution
click scale

If you are scaling them the same way I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe try editing after scaling?

Hope this is of some help x
