Okay, I'm not that proficient with PSP so bear with me on this.

We're gonna learn to make this siggy, putting the text on a curved path like "mommy to Daniel" in this siggy.

First thing I did was create a new document and typed out my text. You can use shapes to do this too, but I'm just using text in this example. I'm going to assume you already know how to do certain things so, if you don't know how to do something let me know and I'll go into more detail. You'll want the letter that you are going to use as your path on a seperate layer from the rest of your text.

Select the letter that you want to put your text over and click on Object>Convert to Path.

Select your text tool, then hover your mouse over the top of your letter and you'll see that your cursor has changes slightly. When it looks like the example below, click and then type your text.

Adjust to location and color of the text and you're all set.

Thanks Rachel! I never thought of doing it that way. I was doing a circle the same size of my letter.... this is so much easier!

Yup that's how I used to do it too. I wish I could find a way to do it in Elements, though. I played with it till 2:30 this morning.

I'm having a little bit of trouble here. Mine doesn't have convert to path. I was trying the convert text to curves, but it was looking rather funky. I do have fit text to path but it is greyed out. Here are some screen shots.

What version of PSP do you have? I'm not sure if this is something that is for a later version or not. If you can give me the version, I'll do some research.

Here's a tutorial for doing text on a path, but not exactly around letters. I'll keep looking, though.

I have psp x2 also and you just need to make sure that the layer you are working with is a vector. If it is raster covert to path is not an option. HTH.

I know this is an old thread but I still wanted to share mine. I made this for my sister in law. Lemme know what you think...

Thanks!

Okay, but wait, how do you do that? I am having the same problem as all of the other ladies. I don't have the option of "Convert Object to Path." Whenever I try to paste an image as a new layer, it seems to automatically come up as a raster layer. I can insert a new vector layer, but it stays blank and if I try to paste any image on it, the image comes up as a new layer called "Floating Selection."

Incidentally...what is the difference between a raster layer and a vector layer, anyway? Those terms are meaningless to me.
