Just wondering if you heard back from your boss about getting paid or going on Mat. leave early? And also what about the issue with your mom and her money? Did you get to talk to her?

No word back on maternity leave (the partial pay that I am requesting). I met with my boss's wife last Thursday to discuss, she said that she would "Look it over and run numbers" and get back to me, but she hasn't yet As far as quitting working, I'm playing it by ear. Admittedly, I'm already mentally checked out, I've been leaving everyday between 3:45 and 4. I would like to only work a few more days, but we'll see....I won't decide that until my boss's wife gets back to me re: pay.

I did talk to my mom a bit. It turns out she only needed $250, and she said that she could pay us back within a month and a half, so that's good. When she came over on Sunday, her fiance also came, and she doesn't really like to talk about money in front of him, so we only got to talk briefly. We ran to the grocery store together and she grabbed 3 gossip mags. I asked her if she needed THREE, and she said yes. I told her that she didn't and suggested that she only get one. She laughed and rolled her eyes, and put two back. That's over $7 she saved right there! I think she kind of got the hint that I wasn't pleased at her "blowing" money after I had just given her $250.

I'm sure you are getting impatient waiting to know if you'll get paid or not. I hope it works out ok. As far as your mom, that's good that she didn't need as much and she can pay it back pretty fast too. I think I'd be a little irritated if I had just loaned someone that much money and then they were trying to blow their money on useless stuff too. She could have gave you that $7 to start paying you back! lol
