I keep waking up in the night and my tummy hurts. I usually fall back asleep after a few minutes. It's weird because it feels like a combination of nausea plus hurting. I don't know how to describe it. It doesn't feel like the "AF is coming" cramps that I got right before and right after my bfp. It also doesn't quite feel like I'm constipated (although I have been having some of that). Of course I am also half asleep when it's happening so it's hard to remember exactly what it felt like.
Any ideas? My prenatals have never bothered me before but I do take them with water right before bedtime, so maybe that is the culprit?
I'm not too worried because it feels like a stomach issue and not a uterus issue. Just wondering what it is.
Do you sleep on your back? Or when you wake up do you happen to be on your back? I've never been a back sleeper, but if I happen to roll onto my back in the night, it wakes me as it makes me feel sick and it hurts my tummy muscles!
I got that too, it was awful. I didn't start getting that until around 7 weeks though. It felt like a bad stomach ache. And you described it perfectly, a combo of nausea and hurting.
Which part of your stomach hurts? i get it pains in my lower abdomen area if i sleep straight (on back or on belly) I find curling up to a pillow works well.
I think it's more the upper part. I always fall asleep on my side, but sometimes I do wake up and I'm on my back. I'll have to pay attention to if I'm waking up on my back when this happens.
could be a little acid reflux. VERY common in pregnancy-mainly happens when laying down and relaxed. The pain is probably burning in your esophagus and since your stomach is acidy your nauseous....try some tums before bed. They are preggo safe and a good form of Calcium (some midwives tell you to have 4 tums a day just for that!) I sleep with tums next to my bed now! lol
Hope it gets better!
I'll try the Tums too then, thanks! That would kind of make sense if that's what it was, as to why I couldn't pinpoint it, because I don't think I've ever had acid reflux.
You so need to get one of those pregnancy pillows!!! I was too cheap to get one lol and now I regret it so bad!!! I know if I order one now it wont get to me until after Landen is already here! But I have heard they are awesome and really help with all the lovely pregnancy night pains!
