Every since I had my bout with m/s I can't seem to get my water consumption back up to my 6-8 glasses. I used to drink this easily before. I've been keeping hydrated with juices, etc but I know I need to consume at least 6 glasses a day. I've tried forcing myself to drink it but it just seems like I'm turned off from it.
Any other pregnant ladies having the same problem? Any advice?

I have this big huge mug that is insulated and I fill it up with a TON of ice and then water. I find it a lot easier to drink water when it's FREEEEEZING cold otherwise I don't like it either. And we have a refrigerator that has a purifier/ice/water thingie in it so that helps too, I can't stand the tap water around here.

I have had the same problem. It does get better the further along you get. I put a lot of crushed ice in my water and that helps.

Thanks so much. I will try feezing my water to see if that helps. I don't like to use the ice at work because it's filled with calcium from the tap water. We have pretty good water here and can drink directly from the pipes but I hate to see the settlement of the calcium in the water when it freezes. I don't have that problem at home so I think I'll have to freeze a few bottles of water and take to work with me.

I LOVE water and It's the only thing I drink. At first I couldn't drink It at all when I was preggo. I started freezeing my Bottles of water and that helped. I tryed mixing in Crystal light every now and then and that helped. It will get better though the further along you get....Sorry, I know what your going threw...

Mari if it helps make you feel any better... I don't drink ANY water at all!! I mentioned it to my midwife and she said I'm obviously getting liquid intake from other drinks... my liquid consumption per day is approx: 4 cups of tea and 1 cup of juice... sometimes 1 cup of milk.
I've never been a big drinker so it seems to work for me. If I feel yuk or lifeless, it's usually a signal that I need a juice.

You guys make me feel so much better. I can get in about 3-4 glasses a day plus I drink juice, milk and those food supplement drinks. I just hate to see my urine yellow and I know I'm not drinking enough when that happens but it was just so hard.
I'm definitely going to try freezing the water and see if I get a better result.

There's no point in forcing it down your throat... it makes you feel yuk and it seems a chore then. Compared to me, you drink loads! I think physically, you would know if you weren't getting enough. Certainly seems to me you are getting plenty.

I don't know if they sell it there, but here you can get flavored water that doesn't have any calories (it's not the same thing as the Glaceau vitamin water, although that stuff is pretty yummy). Also, I find sometimes I drink more water if I have smaller cups of it. My grandma has problems drinking water, so my mom sometimes gives her something slightly salty to eat first so she'll want to drink the water.

Plain water makes me sick at this point. I can only drink it if its flavored---I found lemon juice in water helps for me (and the lemon helps my dry mouth). Plus I use crystal light packets in my water. I am the lone one on this, but I can't stand cold water or ice in my water-I only like it at room temperature (but not hot). My mom puts cut up fruit in water and puts it in the fridge all day--I like that. But when I can't drink anything I eat more oranges/watermelons/watery fruits-it works just as well.

Thank you all. I tried drinking the frozen water yesterday and I got down about 3-4 cups but not more than that. I think I need to get myself in a routine where I drink 2 cups in the morning, 2 in the afternoon and 2 at night.
I eat tons of watermelon, it's so yummy and they're plentiful now. Plus I eat fruit and drink jusice everyday. I think I'm getting enough fluids because I go to the bathroon regularly but its just that I'd like to get in the 6 glasses of water especially since my urine had a small amount of sugar at my last appt.

I agree, being icy cold does help it go down better. Never force yourself to drink it though, only if you're thirsty. If you plan to nurse, you will have ZERO problem getting that and then some down. Trust me. I never liked to drink water until I started nursing Liam. Since then I drink at least 150oz a day. There's no thirst like a nursing thirst!

Im no pregnant lady.....yet, but, I hate plain water!!!! I will not drink water, cold, warm, with or without ice!! I do put Crystal Lite in my water though and drink about 8 bottles of water a day!!! I don't know if Crysatl Lite is ok to drink while Pregnant but if it is I would recommended that, the iced tea is wonderful!!!
