So we took a trip up to bangkok this weekend...as if any of you watch world news you may have heard a violet bloody riot happened. YEP we were there right when i started-we made sure to stay away from the action Friday but sat we had to drive by to get where we were going---i could see tons of police and barbwire fence rolled up in piles so you couldn't get in the road. We made sure to NOT visit the government buildings while there. But we were fine and never in danger really!
Second story....so got in a tuk tuk (little car/bike contraption) and we suppose to be going to Wat Po (famous laying down buddha) anyway our driver started going the wrong way-and we couldn't get him to stop. Finally he had no choice but to stop so we all jumped out but then we were on a highway area with nothing around us. Luckily we did find another tuktuk driver who felt bad for us and gave us a proper ride!
And finally....so we are hanging out at the Grand Palace (place the king lives--not REALLY government building) but I started to get sick. In my rush to find my pills in my bag I set my new camera down so I wouldn't drop it. Well I ran to get water as soon as I found my pills.....leaving the camera on the steps ($350 just laying there). And of course no one returned it
So I don't have many pictures. We did have a friend with us but as you would have it he forgot his battery charger for his camera so it was dead (not the kind you can buy batteries for either).
But I saw friends and had a great time otherwise! And I do plan on getting the new camera I have had my eye on ( I THINK I was getting it anyhow for our anniversary on tuesday lol). Once I get the new camera I will head back up to Bangkok and get some pictures to share with you all. So my picture blog is going to be lacking also till we get the new camera. We are going to either Malaysia or Singapore in the next two weeks and plan on buying it then. So what did you all do this weekend!?
