Okay, so the other week I had to have this stupid physical for the medical board I'm doing (hopefully gets me out of the military or at least disability for my knee probs) and the doctor basically went over my medical records and commented on my lab results and stuff like that. It was really normal and boring, although he was a pretty annoying person all around.
So at the very end, he asked me "so, you don't have any other problems I need to know about?" and I said no. And THEN, he said "Well, it looks like you've got some acne going on there!!!"

OMG. Yeah, I have a few pimples here and there, it's kind of hard to control the raging preggo hormones okay? He was just so rude and smirking at me when in reality he was an ugly old bald guy with tons of ear hair, I wanted to tell him to look in a mirror sometime.

My second most recent one is yesterday when I went to Food Lion to pick up hamburger buns for dinner, the checkout guy (middle aged dude) asked me how much longer I had. I thought it was nice that he noticed I'm pregnant and everything, but when I told him I'm due in January he was like "Oh, you're not having twins are you?!" Like first of all twins are a horrible disease or something that you should take antibiotics for, and second of all I AM NOT THAT BIG. Jeeeeez.

Anyone else? Venty time!

I haven't had any rude comments lately, but I do know sometimes people are ridiculous with the things they say, ESPECIALLY to pregnant women. We have one PT at work who is pregnant, and she popped out really early. It's her 3rd pregnancy, her first child was stillborn, but some people don't realize she has more than one child already, technically. A woman subbing in our class asked her when she was due, and this PT told her, december, and this woman subbing in our class says, "are you SURE, you're HUGE, you look like you're due any day!" And this PT is really sweet and nice, and didn't know how to react, she just said, "he'll be a big boy, I guess".

Some people just don't know when the shut it!

I've had people at work comment on my face breaking out before (not while pregnant) and I was like WHAT THE FRAK. How do you think that is okay to comment on?

My most recent one that really bugged me was several months back. I was talking to my good friend at work and venting about TTC. And I said something like, "Why is it that the people who really want kids struggle to have them and the people who don't, have them so easily?" And this other woman at work just totally BUTTS into our private conversation and says, "Oh yeah girl, I know just what you mean. I didn't want no babies, but I just kept popping them out. Hahaha." Then she goes on later to say, "Oh my mom raised my first two until they were teenagers and then she gave them back when they were at that pain in the butt age. But I raised my youngest myself." Um, congratulations?

Holy crap. I still can't believe how dumb that woman is.

Wow, I am just speechless. I can't believe someone would say that, especially to butt in to that kind of conversation you were having! She sounds like a real winner

I've had rude things said to me while pregnant but not usually any other time. I especially got comments a lot when I was pregnant with Liam--I look younger than I am and I wasn't married (I was engaged but don't have a traditional diamond engagement ring so you couldn't tell I was engaged).

I constantly get rude comments about me and my dh and kids from my Grandfather (which is why I have cut him out of my life) but that vent and all the comments would be way too long to post here. I'll just stick with the top one from when I got pregnant with Liam. He said I was a **** for getting pregnant before getting married and wouldn't forgive me unless I was sorry and ashamed for what I did and regretted it and apologized. There is no way in hell I would ever be sorry or ashamed or regret having any of my children. This was just the tip of the iceburg with him and why you can see he's not a part of my life now.

For some reason, people (in public mostly) have just been picking on me lately it seems! I swear, I get rude comments all the freaking time, every freaking day.

Nothing really yet, but I'm only 11 weeks and I do have the MIL from h*** so you never know....plus the rude co-worker here & there. When I WASN'T preggo I had someone tell me at work that she didn't know I was expecting. Then when I laughed & said I wasn't, she was like, "Oh, but you have that bump," and I was like, "Oh, that's just leftover from the last one." (Luckily we're friends so I wasn't that offended, although another friend who overheard thought it was really rude.)

The rudest was from an NP at Kaiser who insisted that I wasn't having my 1st baby when I was preggo w/ Abs because I had sooo many stretch marks. She kept telling me that it couldn't be a first baby. Plus she was rather rude to me in general when I was asking questions. (And yes, Kaiser never did catch my alpha thalassemia and my OB there told me I had a small pelvis (and so did the other NP) but later my OB retracted what he said & told me I wouldn't get a c-section unless I pushed for 2 hours w/ no results and that my pelvis was perfectly normal, etc., etc...and then I had that awful delivery and problems which still persist...so yeah, they are very rude there!)
