So because I had the D&C, im not expected to get my period this cycle which mucks up IVF cause we have no idea when my next one will come. It was SUPPOSED to come Sept 20th, but thats not gonna happen now. My next one might not come till mid to late October. Which throws off IVF completly and puts retrieval somewhere in December and throws off the due date and thats not good. Puts in in September i think which is too late.

Basically, retrieval is either now in a little over 3 weeks or 5 weeks. This puts me at either 18 weeks or 20 weeks pregnant when I get married with either a late June or early July due date. We're trying to stay due in the summertime, as its easier on me and DF.

Do you think 18-20 weeks is gonna have me looking TOO pregnant? I mean, I am a smaller girl. I wear a size 7 or 9 juniors pants. I know i can wear a tummy controller. But i dont wanna really LOOK pregnant. (I know, vain of me. Sorry, but its my wedding and stuff! I never imagined myself getting married with a bump)

Thoughts, ideas, comments? I'll be reading from my cell at work later.

I guess I'd have to see pics of your dress again to see if you could really squeeze your belly into it. But if that were to fail, you'd just have to get yourself another dress--it's not the end of the world! The important thing is that you're bringing a baby into the world--that's amazing!

When I got married, I had to wear a supportive undergarment--ugh! I'm a size 6 but I've always had a very round tummy. I got one that was a pull on corset-style with boning. It wasn't too uncomfortable, I bet you'd be able to get away wearing something similar on your big day.

If you dont want to look pregnant at your wedding, is there a possibility to just wait?

I don't know hon, I mean, with IVF you can SORT OF plan when you'll be due with your baby... but even if AF comes at the time you want it to, and you do the procedure, that doesn't guarantee that you'll get pg that cycle. So basically all along you've been facing this "issue." Either you really do HAVE to act now & do this asap or you'll never be pregnant... in which case who cares about the dress... or you can afford to wait until later... and if you can wait until later & all this still work, then I'd do that. Then you don't have to worry about feeling sick and tired in the months when it's crunchtime for wedding planning, you don't have to worry about your dress fitting or how it looks, dealing with your family who don't seem to understand it's "urgency" etc.

I think 18-20 weeks pg and not showing is pushing it. You could probably swear some support garments and pull off just looking heavier than normal... but especially after it being the holidays when people typically gain a few anyway... I don't know. Besides, it's kind of disappointing since, I don't know about you, but I WANT a bump when I'm pg... so it'll suck mentally to have to be in the mindset of not wanting one for the wedding day, but still wanting one, kwim? lol

Sorry AF isn't going according to your plans!

I was showing big time by 18 weeks...the ONLY thing I could hide it under was a sweatshirt. On the other hand, a friend of mine wasn't showing at all at 18 weeks. It just differs between girls and there's really no way to tell! I normally wear a 5/6 before and after my pregnancy!

At 20 weeks you will have some kind of a bump. You will most likely be in that "Is she pregnant or not" stage. You could always try to wear some undergarments to suck you in as mentioned above. I just don't know how comfy that would be. Or if it came down to it you could get a new dress that was loose around your belly area?

I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow. I was about the same size (pants wise) you were when I got pregnant. I've only moved up about 1 size. I do have a good size bump but in the right kind of clothes, I still get the "You're pregnant?!" when people find out. I bought my wedding dress about a week ago and didn't look at all pregnant in it because of how the front part fit. So I don't think you have TOO much to worry about.

Hmmm. I need to see a picture of your dress again. (any excuse for pictures!!!). Right now I am 10 about 11 and i haven't got a thing. I am down a pants size actually. But I have m/s. Its just so different for everyone. I guess I would say go for it and IF you don't like the dress with the bump then go dress shopping again!

What does your dress look like? Did you already buy it? Pics?? I'd say that if you can't wait til after the wedding, or move the wedding up, then you'll just have to suck it up with a bump if you're showing Cuz I can't wait for the bump to show and I would hate to feel like I don't want to show it off.

Well, if you are on the small side, I bet you will be showing by then. Especially if your dress is made to show off your waistline. Do you already have a dress purchased? If not, I'd pick something flowy, like chiffon, with an empire waist.

Well my doctor is a moron. Plain and simple. I spoke to him today and we figured it all out. Hes very absent minded. I wonder if he hits the nitrous.. LOL. He keeps forgetting that WERE NOT STARTING THIS CYCLE. He said hes used to people starting asap and not used to people like me who kinda are trying to plan this around a wedding.

The other good news is, im gettting something to "restart" me around Sept 20th (BCP's most likely). He said I won't really get a "period" per say since i have no linning to shed, but i'll get some spotting similar to day 4 or 5 spotting. SO, we'll still be able to do retrieval at Halloweenish (Current estimate is between Oct 30-Nov 1st). Which will put me 14 weeks pregnant at the wedding. Phew. I just felt 18-20 weeks was TOO pregnant for my dress and wedding and DF wasnt happy about it either. (We definetly cant wait till after the wedding because a. we're under a time restraint with DF's sperm and b. we're under a time restraint with school for me in the sense that i have my masters test the first saturday in September, and I have classes still that fall), and we're already pushing it by not starting this cycle. DF's sperm count is still holding at the level it was at in July, so we're still ok.

As for my dress, i got it from DB so if needed, i can exchange it for the next size up. Its a really good dress for hiding belly & hips. I think it can hide a 14 week belly no problem. 18-20 week belly -- not so much. Plus, being 19-21 weeks pregnant during my honeymoon -- Ehhhh. Not feeling it. My mom didnt show with me and my brother until she was 6 months along.

And as for the dress for a visual:

As you can see, it hides hips and bellys VERY well.

But, hopefully now that everythings set straight -- i'll be ok!

It depends. I was still wearing my regular pants until 22 weeks. I think either way it'll work out really nicely for you. And that dress will really help hold things in. I remember squeezing into my regular, size 3, pants at 23 weeks, but I still looked a little chubby. I think you'll be fine, and when you're pregnant, I don't think it'll matter that much to you.

I want you to still remember though that there is a likelihood that you will not get pregnant on the first cycle. Its not a guarantee and I dont want you to get your hopes TOO up and then be crushed. Much of your writing centers around specific dates, as in you WILL be pregnant on such and such date and I hope that you keep your mind open

I can't see your dress pic cos I'm at work. But will check when I go home!

I'm 20 weeks tmor and a lot of people have told me I'm very neat. You can check out my belly pic thread from Saturday just past to see what my tum is like... but bear in mind I was never skinny beforehand.

I think that dress will hide a little belly very well. I was the same size as you before I got pregnant with Liam (I'm also tall--5'9") and I showed very early. By 18-20 weeks I had a good sized belly. My wedding dress came in at about that time and there was no way I could even try it on. But at 14 weeks I think I could have squeezed myself in it with some kind of tummy control undergarment.

And I don't know if this helps your situation but I got a period right on schedule after my D&C (it was a few months after my miscarriage when it was discovered it wasn't complete). You never know what your body's gonna do.

I really hope your IVF works the very first time!!!
