I have no idea what the heck is going on here! For the past two days my feet and ankles have been swollen- I look like I have cankles kinda! They don't really hurt but it is really uncomfortable. I do not eat much salt in my diet, I drink lots of water every day, I am peeing normally... and this is so early in the PG to have such swollen feet, right?

Its just so weird! Anyone had this before? What helped it?

have you been on your feet lots?? That'll do it! Keep them up, increase your water intake and take things easy. NO salt until they come down too!

I know you say you are already doing this but maybe your body is telling you to do more water less salt kinda thing??

That usually helps me!

go to a medical store/pharmacy and ask for ted hose or support hose.....I LOVE THEM! I actually get swollen feet when I just sit for long periods of time! I get swollen hands when I am out to long (heat/walking). Any how the support hose helps push back up the extra blood you now have in your body. The best thing you can do is exercise and drink tons of water!!!!
Exercise because with your body's incoming extra 45% of blood flow you will get soon you need a stronger cardio system to get the blood where i needs to go. if you have a weaker one all the blood will pool in your legs. The MOST IMPORTANT thing to remember is---when exercising while preggers is to overdo it....you need to be able to talk for a conversation the entire time you work out. If you can't because your out of breath-well thats to hard then. Plus your ligaments will start to stretch so you are more likely to strain something-so don't do jarring activities. I do bellydancing/yoga/weights and walking. (i never was a runner because of my knee) Swimming is win-win also- you can't really sprain anything your lighter no matter how preggers you get and its a good cardio workout-and my fav---the water is cool and feels great when i'm hot!

Yups standing heaps will do it! DH & I mucked out the smaller items in the spare room on Monday evening, and I noticed my boots for work were tight yesterday.

I was going to say get some supportive hose, but Angela already said it! Hope it goes back down--maybe get your DF to give you a foot rub

Is it hot where you are at? I know even when not pregnant when its really hot and I've been on my feet all day my feet swell up. Or maybe it could be the shoe's you are wearing. I think you need a nice relaxing pedicure!!!

edited for spelling!

I was wondering too if it could be the shoes you are wearing or something like that. I have no idea if the swelling is related to pregnancy but if it's not because of any of the suggestions offered here, I suggest you speak to your doc/nurse.

Oh Lauren - how cute!!! I had something similar early on and it eventually went away. I wore trouser socks to work and when I'd get home I'd have a huge indentation line in my leg where the elastic was in the sock - it was horrible looking......ahh the joys of pregnancy!!!
