1. Whats your favorite type of diaper
I'm a pocket diaper kind of girl

The outer material is waterproof and the inside is all soft, you put a cloth liner inside to absorb wetness. I like them because you can buy thicker liners or double up at night time.
2. Whats your favorite BRAND of diaper and why, and Fav COVER?
Right now I have Bum Genius one size and Happy Heiny one size, and I like them both. Good thing is that they fit babies about 7-35 lbs so you can use them from newborn-toddler. The only problem is that Aden can get them OFF easily now that she's older! (velcro closures just like a disposable)
3. Any diapers you don't like?
I tried prefolds and covers (the old fashioned way) with snappies, and I did NOT like them. It seemed like I had to change her all the time, the diapers sagged because they got heavy. But a lot of moms love them, I think it's just a personal preference.
4. What would you recommend for a good starter stash for us who are preggers?
I would recommend an easy, daddy friendly, daycare friendly brand like Bum Genius, Happy Heinys, or Fuzzi Bunz because they have snaps and the baby can't get them off

But Fuzzi Bunz come in sizes like small/med/large, although the medium will fit for a LONG time. I got Aden a medium when she was 4 months old and it still fits her at 19 months, not even on the biggest snap setting! All those diapers are well made and will last you. Also I would have at least 24 diapers for a newborn, and with that you might be washing every day or every other day. But as they grow older they won't need to be changed as much.
5. How do you wash them?
For poopy diapers I get most of the poop off before I put them in. I do two short rinse cycles with just water before I do the actual wash. Then I do a wash with the hot/cold setting, and I use Charlie's natural soap (powdered) and maybe a tablespoon or two of bleach. Not hard at all!
6. Anyone having issues with family and them?
Nope, not at all. Most people I have talked to think they're awesome once they see that they've come a long way from the old fashioned prefolds and flats.
7. Anything else you want to share with us newbies?
If you are preggo, totally take the opportunity to buy a couple dipes each month! If I had known about these awesome cloth diapers last time I was pregnant I totally would have built up a stash before Aden was born.
My fave online stores are
www.cottonbabies.com for Bum Genius
www.wildflowerdiapers.com for Happy Heinys
Also, the more you buy the more of a discount you get. If you buy a 6 pack or a 12 pack they will be cheaper than buying them single.
8. Snappies or pins?
I used Snappis with the prefolds and they worked pretty well, I wouldn't want to use pins.
One more thing I forgot to add...if you are putting your kid in daycare, ASK them to use the cloth dipes!
Aden goes to a home daycare, and I took some BGs over there as an example and asked her if she would be okay with it, she was really excited about it!
