I've been searching for nursery curtains for months.... OMG I'm so freaking thick!!! I just went upstairs to measure the nursery window again... 80 inches/240 cm approx wide... I went onto mothercare site to check for curtains and yet again got annoyed cos none at all are wide enough... or so I thought.

The pooh curtain on mothercare are 167cm wide... I need 240cm so I'm like "FGS not wide enough"... but the 167cm is PER CURTAIN!!!!

I cannot believe how thick I am!!!!!!!!!!!!

So anyway, the ceiling in the nursery will be white, walls will be lemon with this border:

How do you think these curtains would go with it:

Obviously the tiebacks are wrong, but I don't need to use them. But the lemon/white gingham... what do you think? I'm completely unable to get curtains same as the border as it's an old style, and I think pooh curtains in a different style to the border will look daft. But something neutral like the gingham?

Those are alright.

but I do have a suggestion.

Why not going with a bold color and pulling it from the border. You could go with the green or orange.

I think what I would personally do.. is get white curtains. I know that sounds funny.. but maybe like a soft off white or something to kinda pull the ceiling color into the walls and make it flow kinda thing? Then you could do ties of orange or green or whatever ya know?

Just an idea!!

I'd thought about that but would I get an exact match in the shade of colour on the green or orange. Whereas the lemon/white are there. I know the lemon wont be the same shade, but there's going to be a fair bit of lemon in the room with blankets, etc.

Our window is rather big so I'm a bit limited on what I can go for.

I don't think you would have to go with the exact same shade if you do a color from the border.. Just one the accents it well. Have you thought about taking a piece of the border into a fabric store? Made you could get them made?

I did think, but then you have the labour fees. I'm trying to spend as little as possible on them, with the window being big, it'd probably be expensive to get them made. I have contacted an Ebay shop about a cost for getting some made in a lighter lemon gingham.

I agree with taking one of the bolder contrasting colors from the border. Instead of putting yellow curtains on yellow walls! Like the teal-ish color or the orange-ish color that is in there!! Thats just my opinion though, obviously its your decision!!!!

I'm no start decorator! Every thing I have for Landen's room is blue or green lol! I like those curtains, I think its safe to go with yellow since you know it will match or if you think it will be too much maybe just try white!!!

I'm gonna go for those one's. They end tmor at 4pm my time, and are currently at £6 incl postage. so MEGA cheap. I know they will most likely go up a fair bit, but still.

I would personally go for the blue color in the border since the orange may clash with the walls and the yellow may be too overbearing with the wall color

or if you had done the exchange (tisk tisk) I could have made you curtains since I'm on a sewing thing right now lol

I like the idea of white curtains with ties that blend with the border. The yellow curtains you have picked are very nice, but against lemon colored walls I think white curtains would stand out nicely . JMO
