DH and I are sitting here watching the news about the hurricanes and I showed him your post with pics last night and he was wondering how you guys are doing? I know there are more of you Texan's out there, How are you guys doing, any pics?

I'm watching coverage on MSNBC right now.. How are our girls? Aimee?? You doing OK too with the tornados and what not?

ETA: Just saw that by Tuesday, we can expect 4-5 inches of rain from Ike! Wow! And by wow I don't mean "OMG that's ridiuclous", I mean, "Wow-- NY is SO FAR from Texas!"

We're very lucky in the UK, ok so we get a lot of rain and not much sunshine, but we don't have these storms and hurricanes. I hope you guys are safe

Its flooding in a lot of areas around here because of the surge.. Thankfully it hasn't gotten close to my house.. They are expecting it to peak and start going down or as soon as the wind dies down the water will start to go down.. We have had more flooding problems here with Ike than Gustav and Ike went inland a whole 6 hours away from us as Gustav when in about 45 minutes from me Its just crazy.. The wind got up to gusting around 60-70 mph yesterday.. I was amazed at how much we got for being so far away from the storm!!!

I'm sure Shannon and Krista aren't updating because they are out of power and they'll probably be out of power for days or weeks so hopefully we'll hear from them soon!! I'm hoping it wasn't that bad for ya'll!!!

Here's a video of the area that is flooded in my parish.. Its actually in the town where FIL lives, but luckily his house is off the ground and a lot further up the road and away from the water.. We flood like this because we have no hurricane protection levees and we continue to fight with the government to get the funding for them..
