Oh.

My.

Gosh.

Words can not explain today.

So, i am working at a brand new animal hospital (full serivce) which is located inside PetSmart pet stores.

We spent last week training. The training was lame. None of it was really about how to RUN the hospital. So of course you can guess how today went.

So I get there bright and early and start setting stuff up.

My coworker and I decide we should go flyer the parking lot across the street cause its a stripmall with a foodstore, babiesRus, Target. Linens and things, Borders, etc. So we are given flyers and go do that. 30 minutes later we come back, hot, out feet hurt and sweaty.

"uhh you ladies did a great job but we gave you the wrong flyers. Please go back and reflyer"

So instead of reflyering me and my coworker went inside of target for 30 minutes and went shopping instead. We put the flyers inside the target in the pet section.

By 1pm, the hospital was hopping. We had the following between 1-5pm.

-A person left without paying
-A dog bit the doctor badly and she needed stiches
-A person decided she didnt like anyone else but me and kept asking me what i thought (I really wanted to tell her to stop being such a *$%# cheapskate and fix her dog!! Her dog had an abnormal mass and she was basically looking for someone to tell her it wasnt cancer. Dr wanted to remove the mass. She got angry. Her dog is overweight, teeth not taken care of, didnt want to spend a dime but this is her "best friend". My hospital makes everything AFFORDABLE and does defered payments too!!!!!)
- Our office manager left 2 hours in because her son got "ill" this was the second time in 6 days she left early cause of "illness" in her family.
- Our office manager owns a pet store and brought in one of her sickly puppy mill dogs and made US take care of the sick thing and barely wanted us to do anything. How can you RUN an animal hospital when you cant even take care of an animal in your own store?!
- The person who is hired to walk around petsmart all day just up and left 30 minutes in and left her stuff in the middle of the store where i found it at the end of the day. So we had to do her job.
- I never got to eat lunch
- My coworker and I got yelled at by the regional manager (who is NOT licensed and knows NOTHING) because we were trying to take blood from an 8 week old kitten to fun an AIDS and Leaukemia test and since the KITTEN was yelling a lot, we were apparently not doing something right. I dont know about you guys, but kittens/puppies are like babies -- you give them a shot or take blood and THEY FRIGGIN CRY.
- Our bloodwork machines were down when they worked yesterday
- Our credit card machine was down when it worked yesterday

The list goes on and on.

I want to SCREAM at the trainer. She did NOT train us how to run the hospital or anything -- She was HORRIBLE!!!!! We are all so list and confused and no one knows a dang thing!

I am so tired and angry tonight. If the job didnt pay as much as it does and give me a bonus every paycheck i would have been out the door today. It was a MESS.

THEN while i am at work at 5:30 my SIL calls to b-tch me out because apparently my "stuff" was ontop of her fragile boxes at my parents house (Ok, i dont go in that room and my parents go in there ALL the friggin time) so i yelled at her that I didnt do it dont know what to tell her, shes like "Well its YOUR stuff" so i told her i dont need this while i am at work, and hung up on her THEN she continues to be a huge you know what and text me stupid crap and then mails me on myspace (didnt read it). GROW THE F UP! I call my dad and tell him about it and she what happened and hes like "Well, shes probabaly PMSing and jealous of you cause of the IVF and all and shes not pregnant yet" WELL SHES 30, TIME TO GET OVER IT AND GROW UP!!!

So, here i am. Drinking wine, feeling fine.

Sounds like my classroom this year, LOL. We're all drinking, and in mediation with the special educator, who SUCKS, and wants us to change a classroom that was running smoothly, and kids were not showing behaviors. The special educator was out on friday, and me and the assistant teacher decided to run it our way, and we changed all the desks around to how they had been....when the special educator walks in and sees the desks the way they are, I am sure we will all be in mediation again, ha.

I hope it gets better. I know how it can get, and working is NO fun when people don't know what they're doing. Can you bring up suggestions that you think would make things run smoother? It sounds like it's simply a poorly managed place.

UGH. Any one of those things would be a nightmare. I'm surprised you're not drinking a whole case after a day like that!

I was drinking Pino Grigio. It was all we had in the fridge that was ready to drink. (I hate warm wine)

I slept 11 hours and feel MUCH better too.

yikes! Sounds like animal family can be just as bad as human family in the health field. I'm sorry your day sucked. Hopefully it will get better with time.
