I just dont know that we can afford it right now. We are both going to school, gas is insane around here, we really want a house before we have a child and I dont see how we can make it all happen if we got pregnant right now
Clearly I'm going to have to go to the doc Wed and see whats up and if this all requires meds, it will have to wait. I am working full time but I'm the only one working with Clint in school. He works part time reffing and that money is sporadic. It already is alotted for something else and my income is paying everythign else. Saving almost makes me laugh, especially saving for a house AND baby.
I just think we have to put it on hold

I totally understand having goals before you TTC. But if you still decide to, things have a way of working themselves out! I don't have the perfect financial situation either, but we manage.

Good luck with the wait, although I hope it's not a long one!

I wish you didn't have to wait. I understand your reasons but if it happens I know you will be okay. Do what you feel is best. Maybe you can stop temping & see if it happens without trying.

I'm sorry to hear you might postpone things. You have some good reasons for wanting to wait, then again I think you'd make it work somehow if you were to get pregnant. But I'l love to see you come back over to the main board for a bit

Oh Lauren....sounds like you have alot on your plate/mind. I do hope whatever you guys need to do works out. And like the other girls said, this just might the time it happens, when you make up your mind to wait... DH and I are in the same boat...we always take vacation the first week of June...If I got pregnant anywhere from now to Dec. we could go....and it looks like I'll need some kind of meds to get pregnant anyway - so we told the doctor no thanks to the meds, we'll see you after the start of the year. If something happens it was meant to be, but right now we just need to take a break. Good luck Lauren - you better stick around though.
BTW - I love the accupuncture blinkie!

Hurricane Ike makes me want to scream too by the way! Gas here jumped but not even as much as other areas. We dont know how long it will be affected since the stupid hurricane directly hit oil refineries and oil rigs out here.
I know its a good time to buy-- we are just strapped paycheck to paycheck. We dont spend like crazy-- in fact we are highly frugal in my opinion. We have the minimum of things we have, except full insurance but I'm incredibly glad we have full coverage since I totaled my car. We'd be lost right now if we hadnt had full coverage
I just feel like we've been doing this for years and the truth is that we have. We both been in school, either at the same time or back to back. Its good in the long run but it sucks short terms.
Seeing as we want a homebirth, we kinda need a HOME for that!
Anyone want to evalute our spending to see if there are areas to save? Clint is looking for another part time job and I"m looking for a weekend job. I dont know that a weekend job is doable with my 50 hours per week and two classes per week but if I have to I have to.

I hope things work out whichever way you decide Lauren! I think that working in addition to your "Regular" hours with school might be too much, but to each their own!!! I wanna see you getting that BFP!

I have a very frugal husband, so if you actually want some advice, I can give it a try!! I used to love debt, and have credit cards like crazy!! DH taught me to spend better, and now we can make money go further than ever!!
I hope all works out with TTC, you will make an awesome Momma!!

The financial board (jess and i are members over there also) does budgets for people if your interested just pop over there-some times a fresh pair of eyes can help.
Good luck in whatever you choose.

The financial board helped me a LOT when I had my debt (I still have debt but we pay a set amount a month now, rather than whatever we could afford). I hope things work our Lauren ((((huggles))))

I know it's hard, but sometimes these decisions have to be made. We'll all welcome you back on the waiting board, of course! Good luck with your time/job/school situations!!

Oh Lauren!! I'm sorry you have to put things on hold. I understand how much having a baby means to you but at the same time we all want to make sure that we have certain things together before we have a child. I do agree with Fi too that you should check out the financial board for any tips on how to stretch your budget a bit farther and help you save a little something.
